Best Mp3 Encoders Out There!
After reading swampers post on the mainpage, I started to think. May-b the mp3 encoder that I am using isnt the best out there. I use the one that he posted on the softwae page (electric cosmo). Is there any other good ones or better out there? What do you use? Thanks

go to www.r3mix.net , do some reading, dl lame, and you got the best.
Ok.... THE BEST mp3 encoder to use is LAME. Trust me on this one. I remember this site saying this was the only one to use. And best of all.. its like freeware & opensource and stuff. So a lot of new programs are implementing LAME. I Currently use CDeX which is a bit buggy but does its purpose. I think its www.cdex.n3.net . Im always looking around tho... for something good that is. Oh well, theres my contribution... and enjoy

Well i always use musicmatch jukebox, but obviously i need to change, but it is very easy to use, especially the new 6.1 version, and can be used for playing, and recording, so i can use it more multiple things, which saves having about 3 or 4 different pieces of software.
Everybody should use Lame
it's the best quality and stuff

I don't know how many sites have bagged Xing. It all depends on what equipment you listen to your MP3's on though.

Thanks every-1 for your help =)
Thanks every-1, I downloaded Lame and it does seem alot better (sound quality) and options alot better than the encoder posted on here. Swamper, how about posting this up instead of Electric Cosmo>? This program seems alot btter (faster encoding also). Thanks again every-1 for your help.

I've used them all, and CDex (http://www.cdex.n3.net/) is the best ripper/encoder for Win32. it uses LAME which is the best, by my ears and others.
set the prefs to "r3mix settings", pop in the CD, and click a button. you got your Mp3s.
BTW AudioCatalyst uses Xing encoder, which is very bad. encode something and listen to it with headphones. warped. fraunhoffer is pretty good, but lame is best!
take it from me I've done the research.
