Offical grammar rant thread

Since myself, daffodil and DasBrotBesser somewhat hijacked that internet slang thread, I decided to make this one dedicated to ranting about bad grammar. I know I don't have the best grammar myself, but there's some things that just piss me off. post your grammar rants here, or flame.

I'll start:

jack and jill went there seperate ways. -->ffs, it's their! i can't believe how many grown adults don't know the difference between there and their! same goes for your and you're!

ok, your turn.

OMGGGG!!! I love these threads. I hate it when people don't put capital letters after a period, or don't use a capital I.

But I will not edit my post.

I blame microsoft, they're the ones who got me so used to autocap and autospacing. Bill Gates will die!!!

One should strive for perfection in grammar and spelling when complaining about grammar and spelling.

Can I borrow a couple of dollars?

Is "borrow" not the correct verb?

I think they mean that by borrowing a couple of dollars they intend on spending it. Thus, they wouldn't be able to give back what they have "borrowed".

I think he means people who would use it as follows:

"Can you borrow me some money?" should be "Can you lend me some money?"

As for typos, just take the time to read over what you wrote and you should eliminate most of them.

People who say color instead of colour.

Twats.
