I got Half-Life 2 beta, pics inside!

Well after downloading those 1.4GB for 2 hours, I installed the game and what do ya know, its the real thing.
I played with the demo for 1 hour (for now) and took few pictures, and the game is fuckin' great, I take what I said about not buying it, cuz I'm gonna buy it.

The game runs smoother then a mother****** at 1280x1200 4xaa 4xaf!! not a lag in a world!!
Ill post more pics in few hours after I played some more maps.

Alot of people ask me what my specs are, well they are;

Athlon XP2500 Barton @ 2.4GHz
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Corsair XMS DDR400 512
Radeon 9700 Pro overclocked
60+60GB HD

and was all that arguing worth it?

Looking at those pics tho, it seems like you dont have all the details/textures maxed out. Still looks fuckin sick though.

This looks like it's basically the E3 demo which was shown a few months back.

I wonder what will be changed in it since they delayed it by another 4 months. And I really hope for Valve's sake that other company's don't acquire the Source engine...last thing they need is 5 years of work to be used by every developer on the planet.

No man, I didnt try to argue, but I dont want people telling me what to download and what not, ya know.
I knew the game would own, and after playing this demo, I confirmed it.
The demo has over 30 maps, all done (some arent, but still playable).
I play this at 1280x1200 all to the max, the pics are 1280x1200, so youll have to enlarge them to view them at best quality!
This demo is not even 60% complete, some texures are mission and this and that, but still Im having a blast playing this shit, fuckin amazing, the AI, physics and graphics are sick!
I dont have the Source code, and I dont want it, and I hope no one else gets it (which Im sure alot of epople will )

BTW, I WILL NOT BE UPLOADING ANYMORE PICS, IT TAKES TOO MUCH TIME, BUT YOU GET THE IDEA!

I wasn't really telling you what to dl or what not to dl, but your reasons for it were crazy. Valve did the smart thing by delaying it. IF it was released then imagine how many people would have their copies hacked, how many cheaters would be on the multiplayer, and how easily hackers would be able to access Steam and dl ppl's personal info.

Believe me, I've been waiting for this just as much as you (Half-Life is, afterall, my all-time fav game) and this truly pissed me off. But you can't blame Valve for it. Shit happens. And hopefully they don't suffer too much from this.

Anyways; no hard feelings?

Word of advice: watch out where you post this stuff. Another forum I reg at (IGN)...they're really cracking down on this shit. Anyone who posts info on the Source code and/or beta gets permanently banned and their IP's are recorded and sent to Valve.

I agree with you 100%, no hard feelings at all
But I dont think they should force steam on us, if we dont want to use it we dont have to, you know, it bullshit!
Im still gonna buy this, I never planned on downloading the full product (even tho I can), I want to give valve my money for making such sick ass game!
And too bad they got hacked, I kinda feel bad about the whole thing ... 5 years for such a blow ... thats fucked up, but I hope he gets busted and the game will hit retail before x-mas

BTW, I didnt post this anywhere else, and even if they get my IP they cant prove shit.

i seriously hope they catch the ****** thats gonna release it cause if the pre-gold version gets released, then I won't be surprised if Valve decides to postpone the game indefinately. Fuck, thats what I would do.

Realistically, if it's released, I'm expecting ANOTHER delay (past 2004) so Valve can change the game around, imo

everygame is released on the net, most well before the actual store date, yet companies released them.

yes, they do...but the games release date is now April 2004. And the beta is already on the net and the guy claims to have a pre-gold version as well. It will have some impact on them.

Either way though, if anyone will want to play multiplayer then they'll have to buy the game. If anyone wants TF2 or CS2, then they'll have to buy the game. So in a way Valve isn't as screwed as it seemed

Hmm... is the HUD and ability to change weapons missing on half the maps for anyone else? maybe its just my dx8 card...

See man, to get the full potential out of this game you need a DX9 card.
Thank god I have a DX9 (Radeon 9700 Pro) card otherwise the graphics would suck some serious ass.

thats why Ill be getting a 9800 pro, 2600 barton, and 512 corsair xms 3200 in the next couple of months

hey devil, just a quick question, what did you use to OC your 2500+? i have pretty much the same system except i have a 9800pro
my cpu has stock HSF though :/ and 2 case fans in my sexy cheiftec server case.
