Axis 8 Rant - Does Yours Suck???

I am curious to ask any owner of an Axis 8 if their CD player SUCKS like mine?

Please only give an opinion if you actually own one.

I am curious because when I call Numark I want to tell them how many people I have spoken to who has one and think it actually sucks, and why.

Here's why my Axis 8 Sucks by Cosmo Kid

1- My Axis 8 sucks becuase the fucking piece of shit constantly skips on me. One Cd plays fine one day but the next day it skips and skips and skips and skips. That sucks.

2- My Axis 8 sucks because some days when I close the drive slot, the cd player still says "close" and doesnt register that I actually closed the fucking thing. That sucks.

3- My axis 8 sucks because he cant even hold a pitch on a song anymore. Yes I first blamed my ears and not the machine that I spent $350 on. And while I dont expect the beatcounter to be accurate, I also dont expect it to waiver 2 1/2 beats while a song is actually playing. That sucks.

So this is why my axis 8 sucks. I have had this POS for about 3 months now, and have played about 3 hours worth of actual music on it. That sucks too.

My buddy has an Axis 8 as well, and also thinks it sucks. He goes through the same crap I do except he has had it for over a year. So it has sucked for him a long time.

Why does it suck to you?

You know, they sell the cdj-100s, which have an incredible reputation and which is being used by most of the big guys, for a little less of the price as the axis 8. I can gladly say that they have never skipped on me whatsoever and the pitch is perfectly, no problems at all

I actually bought a Pro Scratch 2 before I bought the Axis 8.

I had been using my friends Axis 8 so I was somewhat used to it. When I got around to getting my own stuff, I went with the PS2 off of some recommendations.

In the little time I played with it, it seemed very non-user friendly to me and I had noone to teach it to me. So off to Ebay it went and I ordered an Axis 8.

My Mistake.

i dont hate the axis 8's, i mean it was a great tool for a beginner like me ( well im not a beginner now). i still own it, but i want to go for the axis 9's now. i mean it gets boring after a while using the same equipment. if you dont like the axis 8's, try the axis 9's. they are similair to the axis 8's but better than the axis '8s. good luck with watever you decide.

my gripe is with quality. the 9 is replacing the 8 so they can remarket the same features in a new package.

it will be the same crappy ass quality that my axis 8 is. the features on the 8 are great,,,but i can never use them. all my cd player does is skip.

POS (the cd player)

you must be doing something wrong, because i've had axis 9's for about three months now, and nothing has ever happened to em

i have the axis 8 system and havent had any problems like you at all... maybe you have dust inside or something... only complaint i have is that the bpm counter skips too much... i start a track at 135 bpm and it jumps up to 137 and then down to 132...
any 1 here know if you can have it set so you can control it and it doesnt move... unless you move it of course...

and i was also wondering... if you think the axis 8 system sucks so much... why didnt yer buddy tell you not to buy it after he did... or why wud you let yer buddy get it... seems like a waste to me

you tap the "bpm" button to match the bpm display with the beat, or you can just hold the tap button until the coreect bpm is displayed. if that still doesnt workm then keep trying again and agin. otherwise i dont know. i know that drum nd bass tracks will range between 80-90 bpm's, or 160-180 bpm's.
