Behold, my arse. As the Rush comes...WHY?

On the special ASOT set...gabriel and dresden explained why and how that tune came about...and they explained about the girl, how they met, the studio, how it toook a short time to make it.....

yet on here...dave dresden said he made it for paul oakenfold and around paul oakenfold...

someone please clarify this..

honestly, i'm kinda disappointed that such a beautiful song has such a sketchy background.

I thought the music was influenced by Paul Oakenfold, but not specially made for Oakenfold. They made the track with the musical style of Paul Oakenfold in the back of their heads.

I couldn't care less...

Some of the greatest work was done quick!

Maybe it's even better when you get something done quick in stead of straining for a long time on it.

Posted by biznology on Oct-08-2003 16:46:

the story on ASOT was the story i read on here. ive never heard anything about Oakie in regards to it. just that they met her, decided to make some tracks and then before she left they laid one last down...

i dunno why it matters. and im not sure why its 'sketchy'?! people in the dance community meet all the time at parties...hell on ASOT thats how Josh and Dave met too. just cause its a random girl?

it DOESN'T matter, i'm still gonna like this track, i'm just saying it's sketchy that they just randomly met because she was hanging out in the dj booth and dave liked her ass and then they did the track in 20 minutes.

that's not how tracks get made in my book, that's how children get made.

Posted by nick_energy on Oct-08-2003 18:50:

hey guys, c'mon give them a break, at least this name isn't bad

if no one told you the background, you would have no idea the track was made like it was. you'd probably like it just like the rest of us

Posted by Dom on Oct-08-2003 21:49:

i wish people would get over this track!

Posted by trancEyes22 on Oct-08-2003 21:50:

who cares HOW it was made??? its a sick track, could have been produced by dj sammy and i would have still loved it

Posted by Rakoon on Oct-08-2003 21:54:

I'm interested in the story of the track. Can someone retell what Dresden said?

I nearly shit myself...it was so wierd

Yeah, clothing department stores seem partial to trance for some reason.. it's kind of, funny.

Anyways what dave said in the interview was interesting, I remember him saying the lyrics were about droppin e's on a dancefloor... while what he said on the interview wasn't directly contradictory he certainly didn't mention that little tidbit..?

1. i have listened to ATRC over 60 times, probably
2. my opinion of it DID NOT CHANGE after the story

all i did was express my opinion that it's weird how such a brilliant tune was made in an inconvenient way. now GET TEH FUCK OFF MY BACK, EVERYONE, IT DOES NOT MATTER.

The track wasnt made that quick. The vocals were recorded that fast. If there is undeniable talent that can bring so much emotion into a song in 20 minutes, so be it. Hell if they got it in one take in 10 minutes I could care less. How can you judge a song that you have loved since the inception..... but now turn on it that you found out it was made so quickly. Its like eatting at McDonalds. We all know how nasty it is where they make the food... but we still eat it without complaining.

Remember... the 95% of the TA's that arent producers should just hush. You dont know how long any song could take to make. Hours, days, months, years. Hell if its good... leave it be

i believe this thread has officially gone to shit...

we want to know why he changed stories from how the tune originated...while being on this board..to his live interview on asot

When Oakenfold first started to play this out dave replied saying he was glad that Oakenfold was doing so well with it and that ATRC was made with Oakenfold in mind. I think that explains it.

fuck, do you see a single person who said they started disliking this song after the story? why the fuck does everyone have to make a pretentiously smart & mature comment about how "it doesn't matter how it was made, it's what it is". stop beating a dead horse, ffs!

i have no idea how this song came about. but just by listening to it a billion times, im convinced this song is about E. "embrace me, surround me, as the rush comes." definitely about E.

When I went to McDonalds last week I heard Delirium - After All (Satoshi Tomiie Remix) playing in the background.

Now THAT shocked me.
