Help Finding more songs...

Im brand new here. My name is Bryan and I would like to say hi to everyone. Im just begining to like electronic music and I would like it if you guys could give some recomendations on some more stuff to listen to.

So far this type of stuff I really like:

1. Nightmare-Brainbug(paul Oakenfold remix)
2. This is trance-Paul Oakenfold
3. Dream of trance-Paul Oakenfold
3. Jetlag- DJ kim(alpha zone mix)
4. Most prodigy songs (esp. smack my bitch up and breath)

Basically I like things that are usually darker sounding but im not opposed to other things...I also know that some of these songs may be out of the specific trance genre but Im hoping you guys can help anyway. I also like all of the music from the matrix movies. I like the mix of orchestral songs with techno type music. THats why i like the first song so much. I youguys have any recomendations of things you think I'll like just list away. Thanks.

If you like Smack My Bitch Up, check out "We Have Explosive" by Future Sound of London. Also if you like orchestral style stuff check out Magik Journey by Tiesto.

...start with this...this will save you from spending money on cheese trying to find out what you like....beleive me ....me and my friend.. have loads of chessy records....

my recommendation is to look at one of the millions of "classics" posts or favorite song posts

i dont think you can rule out a huge part of trance with the no vocals part just like that

You should get all of Transa's early work, great dark sounding trance. You should at least check out:

Supernova
Behind The Sun
Astro Dawn
Enervate

Plus a bunch of gr8 remixes.

I just dont like songs with vocals. I have heard many and have yet to hear something that I liked. For me vocals seem to ruin it. With just the music I can let my mind and imagination flow in what ever way the song seems to move me at that moment. With vocals its feels to defined for me...to much like mainstream pop music. Im not saying anything is wrong with it its just not my taste. Thanks for the songs listed so far. Is there anything else that sonunds like the style of what I listed in my original post? Thanks.

Hey there, welcome to the TA clan. Enjoy your time here and have fun! As for tunes, maybe you could do a search for 'Matrix Tunes' or something, you might get some ideas there. Someone's probably already said that but I cant be arsed to read the thread.

as for recomendations
Kamaya Painters - Wasteland (Chabs tribute to bedrock mix)
Mass in orbit - Connect (ibiza trance mix)
Dj Tiesto - Traffic

before you completely shun vocals check out "utah saints - lost vaugeness (oliver lieb mix)" if you havent heard it, that is vocal trance done right, i dont think i have met a person who dislikes that song.

Check out PvD, his sets he often cuts alot of the vocals out of songs in his 'reworls' should be your flavor, he is a very diverse DJ to boot, always delivers

If you are starting to get into trance / electronic music more I strongly recommend you grab this album. Started it all for a large number of current listeners.

get some stuff from Nu-NRG i.e. supersonic, universe, bonsai, dreamland, pure thrush (rmx), and Marco V. and MIKE have good productions and remixes, and as mentioned get PVD livesets!!! and don't forget Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar (Nalin & Kane mix), Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (en-motion mix)and Sasha's Xpander for some classics.
