i'm appalled that a man with no political or economic experience, platform or policies can win a gubernatorial election. he's now in charge of the world's sixth-largest economy. horrifying.

well, i don't think u should be appalled... it's not the first time someone without a law degree or economic experience has won an election for governor... nor will it be the last..ahem.. jessie ventura.. wrestler, and governor of one of those boondock states you never hear of, ever.. was it montana? minnesota?? i dunno..

and that's not even the half of it... reagan didn't have any law experience...he was an actor!

i'm not trying to justify this of course-- but what i'm sayin is, might as well try to look at the bright side of things since the terminator is now the governator...

Posted by Russian Crush on Oct-11-2003 03:25:

i heard that he made most of his money through real estate, so he might not be so "unqualified".

this might be the begining of what happened in "Demolition Man" (staring Stalone), in the movie Arnold became president because so many people loved him as a politcian.

Stalone: Schwarznegger's presidential library?

lol.........freaky but funny...

yeah, i have dramatic tendencies. but i do think it's a sad indicator of where our country could be heading. ventura was governor of minnesota and had held at least one of office and had some other credentials -- details slip my mind.

reagan worked his way up, i don't think he started at governor. also, a law degree isn't required to hold office. it's just that most lawyers decide to try to their hand at politics.

on the bright side, maybe a non-politician is what is needed. then again, it's doubtful schwarzenegger will go after his pal kenneth lay, so that $9B is probably gone forever. not really what california needs.

i'm desperate to be proven wrong though.

Yah the sheeple came through on this one, but it's also that not many wanted to save 'Grey Out' Davis.

Still I like Arnie. Let's see how it goes.

This sums up my emotions about the whole thing:

Luckily Arnie can't run for president since he was not born in the USA. If he could I'm sure he would have a great chance of winning...
