Wink Can anyone help me with my Ford Escort problem?

My car: Ford Escort 90's reg

Problem 1: Have no bloody idea how to use the immoboliser.
Problem 2: RPM counter not working (no movement). Guess the cable just needs reconnected but do not know where it is?!

I don't have the user manual so can't fix the problem by myself. I need help.
There must be one UK TA who has, or knows someone who has a 90's reg escort, its a very popular/common car.

If anyone knows answers to the above questions, or has any suggestions where I can find the answers, eg an internet forum, then PLEASE post a reply.

Big thanks to all those who do!

I would suggest to call an Escort Service

there is a saying that EVERYONE has either owned, or knows someone who has owned a mk4 ford escort. Well, if you lot dont know anyone else, then I'm that person , even though most of you don't know me yet.

as for tips, *racks the brain of all car knowledge*

hhhmmmmmmmm, I used to find that hitting things very hard sometimes sorted the problem out, or not

seriously though, what sort of immmobiliser is it, factory or aftermarket, remote or other etc

The RPM counter can be a number of things...

If you lift the hood, and check to see if the cable going into the top of the gearbox is still in place this will tell you idf either the inner cable is snapped or if it needs a new gearbox...

mk5's didn't come on a g-plate, they started at h-plate

thats why i asked what immobiliser it is, mk4's didn't have one AFAIK

edited to say that i thought it said 90 g-reg at the top, and also to say that i am a complete retarded muppetmaster

i tell you how to fix this problem.

1. push car into large crushing machine
2. press start button on crushing machine
3. reclaim your 50 for scrap
4. buy new car
