Angry Ntl

Ok... i have had it!!!!!! this is my second email i just have wrote to ntl, and i swear to god i am gonna get my revenge!!! IF YOU DONT LIKE IT WILSON, FUCK OFF!!! anyhow...for your amusment, here is email 2 to NTL....:

DEAR NTL;

I have emailed you before about my problems with your internet service. You have actually replied, which supprised me, and then immediatley handed me over to one of the moronic henchmen which you call customer support. He then went through every damn thing that has to do with communication on my computer and screwed around with it, and i ended up with the final answer as "um... dunno" and not having the internet for 4 days. I had to fix it myself...originally it started from just not being able to connect about 50% of the time, but after your ever so helpful employee's "fixed" my computer, it wouldnt connect at all. That is just a total example of your QUALITY service. I must disagree with your slogan "Tehcnology Tamed"... it should be more "Technology in a blender". Not only did i not have the internet at all for 4 days, your so helpful employee destoryed the network settings and SOMEHOW had me delete them whilst in his "delete everything" mode. Now i STILL have the problems i had before, oh and much much more. And EVERYONE else i know that has ntlworld! Your service is the worst i have ever witnessed in my whole life! How do you call yourselves a company when all you do is break things or screw whats left to fix up so bad that you couldnt tell the difference from a heap of dog shit between the original problem. I WILL NOT listen to your henchmen again i have learned my lesson from that. All of your lovely helpful and so knowledgable henchmen all told me my problems were of two things. One being my modem and two being the area server messing up. And it is OBVIOUSLY your server. Because if it was my modem, doesnt it seem funny that eveyone i know that has ntlworld and has nearly the same problems as i and we would all have the same model of modem? Well now i am furious!!! the service has only been getting worse!!!!!! it took me FOUR DAMN hours last night just to connect!!!!!!! and now, it took 12 tries before it would establish a connection, all because you people ignore your feedback and never fix any problems. All you do is come out with more bollocks to rip people off with and leave the problems alone! Well i've had it!!!! If you do not reply within the next week, i am going to send off a petition of everyone that has problems with the ntl service to Watchdog, and see if they can take care of you. There is no reason for such bad quality service coming from a huge company as yourselves. You should be ashamed to be even selling any products at all. And dont you DARE reply saying "sorry sir, but we could probably help if we knw what your problems were" because i read most of them out in my last email!!!!! but seeing that you simpily have no organised employees, i think i will repeat what my problems were in the last email.

My problems with ntlworld:

1: Dead connections constantly, and what i mean by 'dead connection' is when you are connected but not sending OR recieving any information. You usualy recieve a max of 300bytes and then the connection stops and never restarts.

2: Mysterious connections, and what i mean by this is that when i connect, i do absolutely nothing but connect and sit and the connection is sky rocketing. the bad part is, that when i try and load ANYTHING internet based, it says it is not connected or the server is down, but where is all that information that i am recieving going?...

3: Not connecting at all! i sometimes will have to try up to 5 hours just for one simple connection to your internet. And i mean CONSTANLY trying! it simpily says either, "unable to find remote computer", or "unable to establish connection".

4: Not loading any webpages, will recieve only certain things. An example would be that MSN is perfectally running fine, but no website at all can be found.

5: Disconnecting early, and what i mean by this is that you connnect, and maybe five minutes later, "SNAP", the connection is gone. I dont think 5 minutes and two hours are anything close to each other.

6: Not disconnecting, sometimes you simpily wont disconnect! the problem with this is the only time it WONT disconnect is when i have a dead connection! i try and disconnect and attempt to reconnect so that i can try and get a normal connection and it says it has disconnected and everything, but the modem is still connected to your server and it wont go away without rebooting!!!!!!

and that is the main points, there are many other of course, but at this point in time, i am so angry with your company, that i cannot think straight. It is not only your internet, it is EVERYTHING. TV, Phone, Digital.... the works!!!! If you have read my last letter, you will see the problems i have had with your other WONDERFUL services...
I hope i make myself clear about fixing your problems, because there is NOTHING wrong on my side! And i WILL make a petition if it comes to it. thank you for your time, i HOPE to get a reply.

Well Ive had my fair share of probs with ntl, but I love it now as Im on cable

1 of the biggest ongoing problems we've had with ntl is that we still havent received our cd, since it was promised in NOVEMBER! Ever snince then my dad has been using my cable connection on my computer to access the net. After numerous telephone calls and numerous promises of it arriving, another few weeks later, it didnt and is still going on. If that wasnt bad enuf, my dad actually found out from 1 of their "henchmen" that if u call up to complain about ur cd, then u get put at the back of the queue for getting the cd!

Anywayz, dont know what to say about ur letter, its a litlle lacking in diplomacy?

Is there any way you could switch to another service besides NTL? There probably isn't because you probably would have by now...

NTL are one of the UK's leading companies, what i do not understand is why they are so fucking shit!!! Dude, go with Worldonline. Surely you can spare �12.99 from your two jobs every month for 24/7 access? No 2hr disconencts, great connection. Sure, apparently their customer service sucks, but then I've never had anything to complain about

Oh, and I work in customer service. Insult the company all you like but when it gets personal you go right to the back of the queue I suggest phoning up and when you speak to somebody say that you know it's not their fault and you're more than happy with the way they've spoken to you, but you would rather speak to their supervisor as you feel it's something they should deal with personally.

If there are seperate customer service and support teams the supervisor will probably try and put you through to support after a few apologies. Don't let them just yet. Instead take their name, and the name of their superior and then the name of the senior person on the technical support team. You should ask to be put through to them, if thats not possible then you should at this point go through to technical support and ask for this person, giving the name of the customer service supervisor who reffered you.

But above all be polite. It's really hard, but you want the guy to go out of his (or her) way to help, not just do as much as they are required. Make them want to help you. At the end of the day they're just doing their job, and as soon as they hang up on you, they'll be taking a call from somebody else. So make them want to stick with you rather than risk somebody more irate on the next call .

i have ntl and they are piss poor! there digital tv is a pure joke! the "interactive" service has been down for aleast 4 months, on the guide all the times are never there, the henchman support line is a joke, u get absoltly nowhere! ntl have billed us the wrong amounts, they even have 2 totally different ppl living at my house, us and the guy that moved out!!! fuck nos who they thinks living here!! i could go on all day, but me foods ready :P

I got ntl and it works just fine. connects first time and everything... i do get problems sometimes like you described but they are caused by my computer.
I know how infuriating it is to have piss poor net service, i've been in that position for several months with some pay services, but it isn't just their fault. I mean sure they should try and make their service work for everyone, but with the infinite hardware and software combinations computers can have there's always gonna be some one who's unlucky enough to have a combination of software and hardware that's screws stuff up. (Proof of that is we have one line for internet that either my PC or my Mum's PC connects to, cept my PC can connect, and my mums gets all sorts of problems most of the time, despite it being exactly the same line, same number same connection settings, everything. It's the hard ware and or software that's on it.) I also had a totaly fu**ed connection for a month or two with ntl, the problem turned out (my own discovery, after their pisspoor replies and suggestions of what to do) to be that my graphics tablet and modem can't be both used at the same time, the drivers from the graphics tablet screwed around with my modem drivers, which meant it seemed to connect but did sod all cept appear to have connected.
I can sympathise with you, but ntl aren't necessarily totaly at fault. Besides we should really be complaining about BT hogging all the copper in the country, and preventing good widespread broad band access. I'd have it now if it wasn't for BT. But no, it's 40 512kbit connections for them, one for ntl... and oftel won't do shit about it. not very fair but that's life isn't it?

I think what most non-uk ppl are missing here is the state of affairs of telecom companies here. There is only really 2 companies, BT and NTL. There aint no T1s or fast lines available. Fastest residential connection is 600k download and 128k upload (ntl, blueyonder/telewest) or BT's very hard to get DSL (512k down/256k up). Both of which are quite expensive (compared to other countries), ntl being �20 a month and bt being �40 (�50?) a month. As such there are still a lot of ppl out there using 56k modems.

ntl cable (73 down and 128 up) is �20 a month IF u have a cable modem, which u dont u rent them, so then its �24.99 a month, coz i was seriously concidering getting it but pulled out due to the fact that EVERYTHING ntl has done to us, or for us has totally screwed up! BT is 34.99 a month for dsl i THINK, could be cable! bottom line we're screwed both ways!

Dude, I know how annoying it can be not to be able to get connected, but you need to calm down, after all, it is only an internet connection we are talking about here. If you spend 5 straight hours infront of your computer trying to connect there may be more of a problem other than just the bad connection.

Hmm, u seem a bit confused here:

1. Ntl's cable service is actually 72kb/s (600k) download and 16kb/s (128k) upload
2. U can buy a cable modem, as I bought mine, so its �20 a month, not �25
3. I think BT is �40, maybe wrong, but I know for sure that BT definately dont do cable, only adsl

it 500% is not my modem or anything on my computer. the isp i had right before this is FINE... it was a great connection, connected EVERYTIME and and never diconnected when it wasnt supposed to! but it got too expensive so we had to switch to this fuck-up of a company. ANd we play games over direct modem connection, so if it was my modem, how would we do that?.... Different parts of the company have different ntl servers... obviously i am in the shit hole of shit holes..... i see no reason for their 'service' to vary in different areas....AND when customers DO complain about the awful service, they never do ANYTHUING about it.... they just leave it go!! so that explains why i will turn them into Watchdog.... and dont think i wont. And as for your connection, that also explains that the different areas of the country vary from the service quality. because coup has a constant of 28k and u have 40 apparently....i dont know what i have because it always says 57 on mine for some STUPID reason, and i can never get the real speed.... my verage download speed is 1kbs.... do u understand now? infact it just now disconnected!!!!!

i never get any probs with ntl eitheraltho some stuff u describe is true. like the help lineLOL!!!and never bein onnected 4 2 hours. but change if u h8 it so much and stop whining..or get a better computer ffs. mine is crap 2 but c'mon
