Angry theory test

Anyone else had problems with this new driving theory test?

This hazard perception thing is really annoying me!!

I've took the test twice now, it says to respond early to 'developing' hazards well I've doing that and it doesnt seem to work.. the pass mark for it is 44/75 (got 41 and 34) and the multiple choice part is so easy compared to it you need 30/35 to pass (got 34 and 35).

I personally think its a load of crap doing this on a computer with poor quality video clicking a mouse when you think theres a hazard..

sorry for posting this crap, just wanted to see what anyone else thinks??? and get my frustration out some more

Get one of those CD's.

Not the BSM simulation (its nothing like the real thing).

You want Driving Test Success CD-Rom's

Posted by ams2003 on Oct-10-2003 00:49:

Yeah, I already got one of them.

Driving Test Success Hazard Perception (2CD)

Whoever introduced this into the test needs to be shot

I never thought it would be so difficult their scoring system is messed up!

yeh i really dont think it has any practical use.

its just crap.

Theory was no prob [barely passed my hazard though]

practical is gonna be an absolute failure [nov 4th]

and just practice it a lot if u find it hard

There is no reason to be scared or nervous,
just think as it as a normal lesson, besides
it only last for 40 minutes, you do a couple of
manoeuvres and a little drive thats it.
Piece of piss

3 years and 9 months ago now

Its only 40 minutes? True, I suppose the hard part is getting this hazard thing

lucky sod! I think this new shit only started last year aswell.. I wish I started driving earlier now

Posted by DJ M.G on Oct-10-2003 18:34:

Make sure you dont press on the mouse to early (like i did)
so i had to press it again really fast when the hazard came into
view, dont worry its pretty straightforward, thats if your not
nervous

do u drive? i dont think so. therefore u dont really understand how u could use this test in real driving.

the scoring isnt messed up, it is just very critical, u need to respond to 'potential' hazards quickley, its not clicking when a cycist charges out in front of u, its clicking when u see the cyclist first[/b], thats the key, it is clicking the moment u see a [i]potential hazard, not clicking when it actually happens.

actually i think he has a full drivers license now

Anyways, it's no wonder there are so many wank drivers on our roads, because passing your test is incredibly easy that it's really quite pathetic. As the saying goes, they'll let anyone drive these days.

then if he does then he should know that the hp is important. its because of every tom, dick and harry driving that these tests are now getting harder. u have to earn the right and prove youre competent enough to drive before u can. i agree with the new harder tests.

Finally passed the bloody thing today
(3rd attempt though!) 35/35 and 48/75

Now for the practical..
I think the hard part is over though this hazard thing really is a load of bollocks

does the hazard test have a woman driving a car you can click on?

do you get double points for clicking on harriet driving?

Well yes I do drive, as Mikey said.

I really do think the hazard test is pretty useless, passing it isn't going to make you a good driver and failing it isn't going to make you a bad one. A lot of people take it a few days after their 17th birthday, and still past it despite having had very few or no lessons at all. This, in my opinion shows that its not a test of driving skill, but rather will be easier for people who have played alot of computer games.

I think no ammount of testing is going to put off dangerous people from the roads. It's not the person who had a problem passing the hazard test, but now drives normally whos the danger... its the boy racer who passed theory and practical with flying colours and its now driving around like a madman.

if you can parallel park to the right in a space smaller than your car at 3.30am......

...... I give you 2 camel

Posted by UglyDave on Oct-22-2003 14:50:

they've recently introduced the theory test in Ireland too, it'd say it's quite similar.. You have to get 35 / 40 questions right to pass.

90% of the questions are piss easy, but they through the odd one in to catch u out! get the CD and i'll be flying.

And learn off all the figures for stopping distances when wet / dry...

Agreed! I think one of the obvious reasons for having this stupid hazard test is due to so many boy racers.
It seems lots of people just pass the test and don't seem to care about their driving once they got their licence.

thats utter shit. unless u can effectly percieve a hazard before it happens, u will not pass. when i did mine, i was trained by an emergency services instructor and i had alot of inside information on how this works and you will only pass, being a good or bad driver if u have the ability to read a possibly hazard. wheather they use that information on the road is out of our control, but this tests now filters out people who cant read a hazard, which is vital when u drive.
