That's not very nice is it. Some people here don't appreciate others talking about warez. Especially those who actually paid for the software. (just so you know for the future).

I'm not too familiar with Cakewalk, but I recommend Cubase SX if you are after something of that style.

Cubase SX is a little difficult for me (or others programs similar to these as Emagic Logic Audio etc), i am looking for "virtual studios" like orion, Fruity Loops or Reason. I saw in internet this product (cakewalk project5) and it interested for me; for that reason i am wanted information about it and if can give me confidance to work with it

Sorry, I thought Cakewalk was a vst sequencer. Hadn't heard of cakewalk project5. Most people here will tell you to have a look at Fruity Loops Studio or Reason 2/2.5 and I am inclined to do the same.

I read a review in swedish mag "Studio".
It's supposed to be quite ok, should be worth checking out. For everyone. Yes, you too

We have a magazine here in the UK called 'computer music' and when Project 5 was launced a few months ago they went mental for it. Basically it's a fully inclusive studio set up like Reason, but supports VST and DX plugins like Fruity Loops, and it runs on a high quality sound engine i believe.

However i think it's quite resource hungry and you need minimum od like 1.1Ghz cpu i think, and 256MB ram...

I can't recall exactly what "Studio" didn't like, but all in all they thought it was great and it got something like 8/10 at least. Better keep an eye on this, looks promising.

Project 5 is very nice, played with it at the AES Convention in NYC today.

One thing it allows you to do that Reason can't is to bring in external synths and sounds, Reason is a totally closed system (except for sampling with Dr Rex).

Oh yeah, please pay for your software....

final consensus?

er...is project 5 a Cakewalk substitute? What I mean is... It looks like quite a bundle...its got softsynths, effects, sequencer(?)...
Is it all you need to get going in EDM production?
Looking at the interactive flash presentation at the website and I gotta say...it LOOKS pretty good, but I know nothing about software/computer based composition.

Yes, and more.

I've been meaning to check it out but I still haven't... it sure looks like one hell of a package.
