Tutorial request list...

I've been thinking of making a new tutorial again pretty soon (probably on some of the more generic sounding Leads that a lot of people want to make), and while thinking of what to do I got the idea of coming up with a Tutorial Request List.

Basically, if you hear a sound that's common/uncommon that you don't know how to recreate but really want to know how, post it here and myself and some of the others on this forum can take a stab at recreating it.

The only rule is that you have to post a small sample audio clip of the sound you're after.

What do you guys think?

GOOD IDEA !!!

I've been thinking we should've had something like this a while ago. Like with samplecity.

This is a great idea... and stickyy it nooow

Posted by iLLicit on Oct-12-2003 18:39:

this is indeed a great idea. There have been some posts lately about recreating those specific sounds. I'm really interested in this!

Well then, start coming up with some requests!

My next tutorial which I should be finished over the next couple of days is recreating the lead from Gamemaster 2003 (Michael Woods mix).

Hey how about making some tutorials on special effects... I think above all I see the least amount of info on that topic here - if you want me to be a tad more specific, how about any song james holden has ever made heehee.

Posted by Sean Walsh on Oct-12-2003 23:54:

Sure; post a sound clip as per the rules =P

*Goes insane*

I've been trying to get that myself with no luck, i'm looking forward to this

(btw, this time, how about a few presets, making me modify 5 synths as i had to in the avb tutorial was cruel )

Posted by Sean Walsh on Oct-22-2003 17:34:

This ended up being a lot harder than I thought it would be, because quite simply, he used a Virus for this synth and I don't have one =P

For those interested, you can come really close by modifying the "Polytrance" preset with the Pro 53.

For those of you with the z3ta+, you can get it right on if you download that Virus hack for it that someone posted about a couple of weeks ago. Takes a lot of tweaking though.

To give you guys an idea of what he's doing though, he's using 5-6 voices, of which 3 or so are LFO'd to make it continuously change shape. The sequence is a little complex but I can go over it with people if they want.

Next up I'm going to do a small tutorial on Jame Holden style effects. This will hopeully be done by tomorrow.

James Holden posted on his website the vocal trick for nothing.

The sweet 303 sound would be cool... Something like in Kai Tracid's Trance& Acid? I really don't know how to add audio sample... sorry

Hi. Could you show me how to make a bassline like this in reason 2.5?
The sample is taken from: Apoptygma Berzerk - Kathys Song (Ferry Corsten Remix)

Ok, seems to be a problem with uploading mp3 samples. But here's the deal:

The bassline for:
- Apoptygma Berzerk - Kathys Song (Ferry Corsten Remix)
- And the shit that kicks in after 30 sec. in Solar Stone - Speak in sympathy (Orig mix).

The last song is for download here on tranceaddict. com

I'm using reason 2.5, so it would be cool to know how to make with that program... Looking forward to see what you come up with..

I don't use Reason so I can't help you in that department... maybe someone else can volunteer. Could try with VSTs though.

Monkey Dancer 2

Samba Samba

I have one sound in my mind... It is bit hard to describe... It's somekind of samba-effect.

I can send short sample from that sound via @mail if someone is intrested to help with this one... It is more like some kind of percussion or some kind of hit-thing...

It would be enough to know wich tangents to hit when... and what effects to use..

Posted by Joi Lamusic on Oct-23-2003 21:35:

tangents? what're they? or what're they in music world?

Sorry, my english is f***ed up. I meant that it would be enough to say what keys on the synth to hit when, and wich effects i should add.. A draw up in cubase would be nice..

I made these tutorials a while ago for fruity loops...
They are pretty much for newbies on a beginner level
