magik 6 to magik 7 was a big jump...,in my opinion magik 6 was the best live set ever....and then 7 was just a disappointment ..would you guys still be interested if tiesto happend to make magik 8 or would just not care due to how magik 7 dropped..would you be excited?

No, because people are too spoiled and jaded nowadays so it would only be met with criticism.

TRANCE.NU -- In an exclusive interview with Lost Heaven tonight Tisto announced that he will end the Magik mix-compilation series and in a way put an end to an era.

Written by: Ralf Elfving, aka Macman
Just a few weeks back Tisto claimed the throne as the worlds most popular DJ after being carried there by thousands yet thousands of fans that had cast their vote on him in the more or less official Best DJ Award, annually held by the premier UK-based Djmag.

But just as many fans of DJ Tistos will morn as the new emperor of the dancefloors decided that Magik 7 Live in Los Angeles, released last fall, will be the very last compilation to carry the name of his critically acclaimed brand - Magik. Many will see this as a big loss as the seven releases in the series have delivered Tistos own interpretation of the music he lives for.

When Tisto in mid-December 2001 announced that hed leave Ferry Corsten to handle the gear in their every so successful Goureyella-act he did it with the reason that he didnt have time to sit down with Ferry and produce something worth the name of Gouryella. The reason that Tisto now gives up on his beloved Magik-series is that he feels that the quality of the productions have decreased and that he was more or less content after the 5th chapter of the series. Instead he wants to focus on his own productions and solo albums that will follow the In My Memory release something that still should please many of his fans around the globe.

With Magik and Gouryella left behind people think that the Dutch magician is burning the bridges while others sense that the scene has changed and that Tisto is moving on with Black Hole and his new label Magik Muzik that have seen big success all over the world, even in the otherwise very rock-hard UK-scene.

Many see at Tistos conquer with despise but should really think again. Instead of making money on already popular brands without putting his heart and effort into it hes trying to do something new, start from scratch. In todays scene with the recycle-trend and money-matters its just what we need to survive our Armageddon. Im not trying to get my tongue up his arse Im only trying to get people that doesnt respect Tisto for his music to at least respect him for what he does to our community. So it is with great sadness, in many ways, we together with Tisto leave his Magik-series behind. But it also with great hope we wait for what the worlds most popular DJ can deliver in 2003 and beyond that.

No. Tiesto was wise to put Magik on the shelf, since he no longer represents the sound Magik contained. End of. If he were to continue Magik now he would get tons of hassle from people who would say he doesn't stay true to the Magik sound, so wisely he left the Magik series and went on to other concepts that could display Tiesto's current sound.

Right now...?
No.
It just doesn't fit in on him now...

Magik 7 completely ruled.

Posted by fitom tiel on Oct-12-2003 23:07:

wouldnt it be fair to say that nyana was the evolution of the magik series?
and that naming it 'magik 8' would get tiesto bashed even more so?

or should i stop philosophising?

love 7

does 7 start with a women saying to a crowd "just to help you get your grove on dj tiesto"?

was there ever a track listing for 7?

never heard any others but 7 was the shiz

Posted by DjArTiN! on Jul-24-2004 02:11:

I want another Forbidden Paradise.

Posted by DJ Rat 187 on Jul-24-2004 02:19:

If Tiesto made a 360 back flip and produced a Magik 8 that wouldn't disappoint people then I'm sure no one would mind

Posted by Clyde77 on Jul-24-2004 06:39:

i say tiesto should not do a compilation anymore. it would sound "ASOTish" cuz of all the tracks being played there, he's gona have a hard time looking for good music.

and i think he should focus on his own productions instead.

but yes, there wil be a isos4 and no more magik.

after isos4, another album. then comes tiesto in concert 2 dvd

Posted by eXeTik on Jul-24-2004 07:06:

I say he should start a new series called

Dj tiesto - Live @ trance energy, since the 2000 set was absolutly brilliant!
