Armin ft. Airwave - Slipstream <=
hello guys and gals
i know its maybe kinda oldy now but i wanted to hear your comments about this tune which is sure on my top 5 of the year so far.
the melody is just outstanding! at first i didnt even like it but it grew on me until that i cant stop spinnin` the vinyl !
so please tell me what u all think of this since it didnt get much attention here
->
ive been searching for this one on the archives here but the only result i got with this thread name was rolled about the fake release of armins album..
It's not very good.
Definitely a big letdown for me. Would have expected more with Airwave & Armin teaming up.
I really love the melody/pads although the whole tune could have been abit better
am i the only one who thinks that the tune is more than awesome ??
i think its solid,
nice heavy kick with a melody thats not over the top
i actually think that it's a fucking great tune
under-rated, and that's kinda weird for a collaboration between two of the biggest trance producers out there
I was dissapointed. Not up to Sunspot par imo, and I didn't really love Sunspot all that much either. Seems I like it more when they're seperate, together it becomes almost too much.
Good, but pales in a bit in anticipation because I expected so much from it because it was both Armin and L-Vee...
I think its a good tune. I think it couldve been alot better, but I wasnt let down by it.
Not sure why this tune got such bad press. Collaborations between big producers tend not to result in tunes that are the sum of their parts. Slipstream is an interesting track becasuse the Airwave elements and the AvB elements are so distinct. However, I think the first half of the song is much better than the second half. About two minutes in a noticeably Airwave-esque synth is brought in, and combined with the pounding kick (which also seems largely Lolo-influenced) there's the potential for a nice dark trancer. But then it breaks and the fluffy Armin bits come in (not to say that fluffy is always bad) and dwarf the earlier melody to an extent.
It's still a nicely layered track and better than the solo tracks on Armin's decidedly mediocre album, but I agree upon hearing the first three minutes they perhaps left something on the table. Of course, that's simply a personal preference and thus I wouldn't go as far as to say it "could have been better". It probably deserves more credit, then, but TA is never particularly objective at the best of times so I suppose we can't hope for too much.
i like the strings thats about it really.
After listening to James Holden's Balance 005 I feel like I'm wasting my time when I listen to this cookie-cutter gouda crap
