The guy is a mystery! I talk to him sometimes, but he doesn't really tell me what he uses. Overall, I think he's a great addition to the Tranceaddict, crew and is my 2nd favorite producer on these boards. Haak's my number one favorite, lol!

Consistency - Santiago's got that. Sick beats, heheh, we all know that. He's a machine two sometimes posting 1 - 2 tracks a week!!!! What more can you say about this guy! He's absolutely incredible if you ask me!

By the way what happened to your 'Discharge' logo in the synth - it looks very retro now. (heheh, which is phat in my opinion) One more thing I have to say - Sentimental Madness is one of my favorite tracks from you! Had it on repeat on my walkman for a couple of times. lol! -Mental

Not much point in arguing over opinions, is there?

of course not, it was just rather strange he called santiago nio easily the best producer on this board.. when clearly when it comes to technical abilities Endre, MK-S, MaRt and you, Lightworks, etc. are very talented as well. doesn't matter if it isn't his style.. looking at it objectively he must acknowledge the fact that in terms of production quality dj cutoff is indeed a very good producer, but not easily the best producer on this board.

I personally don't think Endre is that great. I think Mike is a good producer, and I've been trying to get him signed since I first heard silverglow. MaRt is also good, his mix of frozen especially. Lightworks is good at what he does, and Mr Mystery isn't half bad either
but when it comes down to it, the sound quality, the detail, the ideas and thought that goes into cutoff's stuff, is ultimately superior to anything I've heard on these forums. His stuff crosses the boundaries of genre without losing any quality whatsoever, and it amazes me the lack of response by people on here, and I know it's something cutoff gets pissed off about.
sorry if i've offended anyone, but thats my opinion, and I'm fucking right

I'd say that's mostly because ultimately this is a trance board and I've never heard a trancey piece from him. People are afraid of something that's different, be it looks, music, religion, whatever.

but there was the tech trance track, catch the vision, which IMO, the best track ever to grace this forum, it only got about 8 replies
most of which were from me!

That is very true Finally paid off, gotta thank you for that.

cutoff is certainly an excellent producer, undoubtedbly. The difference in genres however makes it quite hard to compare people though; as many artists on the board show innovatitive and production quality skills.

To be honest, I don't think comparisons should even be made. At the end of the day, it's not really a competition about who's the best. Everyone should just produce what they feel, and enjoy themselves.

Case closed.

I'm making it a competition!

Rank me on your league table then mother******

I think Cuttof is amazing, however some of his stuff has not been as good as his best works, so there is sometimes a problem with consistancy, however a brief chat i had with him a few weeks back he said he was getting a better computer system, and his productions would be able to reach new levels.

i think he make's good music.. i don't really listen to techno, but i like his track's..

but i think that a big reason that he not always get many post's is that he doesn't (hardly does atleast) comment on other people's track's.

caus if someone is commenting on your track you would like them to comment back

was some other user some time back.. can't remember the name now, but he posted track's here to get comments on them, but he never gave any comment's to other people which ended with that he stopped posting his track's caus everyone stopped commenting on them.

NOTE: not saying something is wrong with djcuttof or something.. i'm just giving you a hint

Actually, good point.

santiago rocks! i don't think his tracks are the most detailed, but that's not the most important thing with his style, and besides, he makes soo many tracks. i've heard way above 100 tunes from him. he's really improved over the years i've known him, but he was already good when i was introduced to his sound.

Posted by Az on Oct-13-2003 22:42:

hehe haak knows the score

Posted by dj cuttof on Oct-14-2003 03:29:

Hi everyone, heheh well guys im very fucking happy you like my music. there's alot of amazing producer's here in this board and i dont think im better than them or worst than them, we have different's styles, and well i do reply to posts to people i know or to people who make techno, i dont think i can give any opionion of trance tunes since i dont produce trance, anyway producer's like MK and haak and lightworks etc. I REALLU LIKE. ANYWAYS i use: ''Logic'' ''Orion syndicate'' ''Ableton'' vst stuff, also i have an emu sampler wich i dont use very often.

I'm no brown nose - but I CANNOT say that I HAVE EVER heard a bad Santiago Nino track! Technically, I can say that he beats me in many areas - percussions, rhythms, and even his sick bass drums!!! The guy is such a huge talent, and I'm surprised he get's little recognition!

This guy is like working on 5 tracks at once! He get's em done frequently, and he pumps it out quick! A super robotic machine that get's the job done!

I never really liked techno, until I have heard his brand. LOL! He even inspired me to make techno like music, which is something I have never done! But, even though the attempt wasn't 100%, it was the thought I guess, lol! -Mental
