Sony do one but its a double DIN unit & hard to get hold of. though you can probably special order it form your dealer.

Hello!

What's DIN?

Posted by dj_mdma on Oct-14-2003 17:18:

DIN is the international standard unit used for sizing head units and stuff. A lot of japanese cars have double DIN units, and these units are basically twice the size of a 1 DIN unit. If u happen to have a new Ford car (Focus, Fiesta) the aperture you are left with, when you take out the stock head unit is double DIN.

Like goose_wh said, there are Double DIN units out there but they are very hard to get hold of, as most of the cars here use Single DIN slots. If u do have a double DIN slot in your car, buy a n adpator bracket thingy from autoleads that will let u place a 1 din headunit in your car.

I have a Sony MDX-M690 Head unit in my car linked to a CDX-T69 Changer, and i don't ever need to change discs

I have one suggestion, if you getting big ass speakers and you find you have battery problems then get a battery for the trunk. Makes a world of difference.

it depends what sort and how many speakers you're getting. also depends on your amp usage as well.

My friend has 4 Alpine Type R subs (300W RMS, 1000W peak) linked to two big ALpine V12 amps which dish out 500W RMS each. Before he didn't have an extra battery (he just had a power cap) and there was a noticable difference in SPL. However, he has now realised he has no need for 2 amps, as these suck up a lot of juice, and he has invested in a single Alpine MRD 1000 which sufficiently powers his subs whilst taking a lot of strain on both batteries, since this amp is more efficient or somehing

True but I'm trying to point something out, cuz we need to blast our choons all over the world but we cannot have the car dying. So buy the battery with the most cold cranking amps and power.!
