Drunk Offshore Remix

At last we are back online and we got some catching up to do, (you guys have been busy)

We have been working on a remix project of the classic 'Offshore' by Chicaine to try and build our profile and so far the responce has been good

AJ Gibson and Les Hemstock have been playing it (Les has even charted it for us!)
Guy Ornadel is on it and gave it airtime on his Ministry of Sound radio show (Track listings here)Things are looking good!

We are sending it to Xtravaganza this week so i can only post it @ 128kbps but it would good to see what you guys think of it.

Enjoy,

Offshore Absynth Remix

hmmmm...,.listening....sounds good so far.......

its pretty good. i don't want to be unsupportive, but it doesn't beat the original. i don't really like the main synth that starts the fade in around 4:08. its a good sound just not the one i would have picked.

Like i said, its a classic you cant beat perfection!

The hook was not the one we first had but it works, on the other hand i see what your saying.

Cheers

Hi

The percussion is nice man, the structure of the track is good, you know everything was nice, but! the sound of the lead, was kinda diffrint, maybe its a matter of taste, but i didn't feel that synth fits the whole track..

very nice remix but as said above the original is a classic and wont be beaten!

sounds very pro!

the percs are nice, i also like the kick, i think the synths however grow on you the more you hear it!

well done

Hi Dunc

Downloading it now will post some feedback after I've listened.

I know the main man at Xtravaganza by the way !!!

Posted by LAPLINC on Oct-18-2003 15:40:

Me Again

Had a listen & like what I hear - Well 99% anyway !!!

Change the Crap Clap in my opinion it sounds cheap !

Also I like the synth that was mentioned, however I might try dropping off the distort somewhat from it.

Only My Opinion - No Offence

Apart From That - Nicely Done M8

Hi Paul,

Cheers for that mate, glad you liked it, as 4 the clap, it is something that bugged me at first but i dont mind it now (it sounds better @192)
Don't think i will change anything now though because this is the 3rd version and alot of DJs ect are on it but i always take on board what ppl say and use it in my next project.

Love this remix to bits but could be a lil bit longer maybe.
A nice twist that makes it induvidual from the other remixes.

Posted by ABSYNTH on Oct-21-2003 21:18:

Cheers mate, we have got an extended version but we cut it back after we heard how it worked in a club

I like it, doesn't beat the original though. A good track though. Good luck with it and keep up the good work, don't really have much criticism.

Posted by ABSYNTH on Oct-29-2003 17:28:

Cheers mate

Anymore for anymore?

Good remix.

why? because it dosent sound like the original or the rest of the remixes at all. brings the track in to 2003, and although ive heard offshore a million times, it was nice to hear a refreshing version.
not only is it original, its also good!

xtravaganza are just gettign back on their feet now that alex gold has finished his long vacation and so i hope xtravaganza commission some new mixes along with this and put out a 2004 release!

oh, and for those that said the original cant be beaten.. i have to say i think the disco citizens version is by far the best for a club, agree??! obviouslty hte original is to chill to!

keep up the good work!

Nell.

It's different There are elements that make the tune too simple. Especially the annoying notes at minute 4:07 create this atmosphere of simplicity. At 4:34 the repetitive notes make a more powerful annoying debut. Finally the tune becomes really repetitive when the annoying notes make a full comeback at 5:02. Get rid of these they will make your remix sound a whole lot better.
