Ok I'm slightly confused. You want us to recommend you some tunes, then you'll listen/evaluate them?

NO.. I was responding to my previous thread
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forum/s...threadid=134848
-- just thought I'd let em know how I made out and what I thought of their pix.
I think it helped me find my niche. I never realized how many KINDS of techno / trance there was!!

Posted by TeKnoHe@d2025 on Oct-16-2003 01:04:

Gouryella = Ferry Corsten so I should get some more credit

Hehe, thanks for giving us props though. Gouryella used to be DJ Tiesto & Ferry Corsten but Tiesto has left the project. "Gouryella", "Tenshi", and "Walhalla" were all made with Tiesto's help and "Ligaya" is solely Corsten's work.

I consider Tiesto's "Magik 6" CD one of the greatest Livesets ever. You'll soon see why once you listen.

Btw, Oakenfold did not make Cafe del Mar. It's Cafe del Mar- Energy 52 probably.

Posted by Psygnosis on Oct-16-2003 02:17:

Get Mea Culpa - The Child, practically the best trance tune ever made...you'll absolutely love this...

also get Matt Darey - From Russia With Love, love this song to bits....a much better version of Li Kwan - Point Zero

Lost Tribe - Angel ...more stuff by Matt Darey means quality nuff said.

there is M3 - Bailamos (Matt Darey Remix) which is awesome, beautiful trance.

also there is Icebreaker International - Port Of Yokahama (Free State YZF Mix)...this is the better Above and Beyond

get Salt Tank - Eugina (Michael Woods Mix)

Y- traxx - Mysteryland (Mr Sam Vs Fred Baker Mix) is also very beautiful..

BT - Flaming June, no comment is needed for this gorgeous song.

BT - Mercury and Solace, this practically still defines the beauty of trance.

I see we've got a Darey fan

Posted by mezzir on Oct-16-2003 02:38:

PvD - rendezvous (tilt mix)
one of my favs
also try nu-nrg - dreamland
esp. if you like gouryella

Maybe I'll try it again.
This stuff really is acquired taste.
Also, Oakenfold tends to be misrepresented alot on p2p file sharing networks...as do most mainstream artists... sorry about that, I'll change the name right away in my folder. I hate that.

Posted by Strike on Oct-16-2003 19:17:

maybe you'll like
salt tank - eugina (michael woods remix)
paul van dyk - time of our lives
annie lennox - pavement cracks (gabriel & dresden remix)
way out west - mindcircus (gabriel & dresden remix)
d-fuse feat. jes - everything with you

maybe when you progress i can give you better recommendations
lol

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Oct-16-2003 19:23:

WTF is it with the progression thing today?

Posted by starglider on Oct-16-2003 20:20:

Beats me, some misguided souls seem to have the wrong idea about the usage of the qualifier "progressive". I didn't like progressive at first, now I do. I also like techno, breaks, ambient and a bunch of other stuff I couldn't get into at first. However I still listen to the most accessible trance as well so it's hardly a progression in that sense. Anyway give the guy some slack, he doesn't need a lecture on what to listen to, he just wants some trance.

Try these:

Afterburn - Summer Sun
Armin van Buuren feat. System F - From The Heart
Firewall - Sincere (Pulser Remix)
Insigma - Avalon
Matt Hardwick vs. Smith & Pledger - Day One
Morpheus - Signs
Orkidea feat. Valeska - Melancholy
Questia - Crystal Clouds
The Gift - The 7th Day
Vector 7 - Embryonic Intelligence

Re: Report Card (thx for help)

Digital Aura keep away from prog and you'll be fine. I'd recommend you listen to some PvD sets (they're very energetic and enjoyable for me at least). You can get his set from Energy on the live set downloads page.
