Thumbs down

I've wanted to see Acosta for a while, but...

21+ for guys....

You won't see me there. I am not a fan of George Acosta. Actually, I think he's a horrible DJ.

Acosta is terrible...but I'm suprised by the 21+ for guys 18+ for women door policy.

Anyone know why they would set it up like that?

Evil1 All this Hatin' on George Acosta!!??

Whats up with all this HATIN on George Acosta? I just saw him last night in Chicago at Vision and his albums he releases DON'T do him justice. I was thinking this just about the entire time I was throughly enjoying his set last night. The energy level of the set was high, euphoric (at times) and just phucking great! The guy is brilliant...hence his #10 ranking on the www.thedjlist.com

His energy during the set was awesome too. I haven't seen a big time DJ get into his style of music emotionally like that in a while.

I am now a big fan.

Smiley DJ

You guys know nothing about Acosta. His cd's do him no justice at all, although his miami cd is ok, you have to hear him LIVE. There is nothing like hearing him live. Best trance DJ in the US period. Don't base your judgement on a dj by his cd releases because PVD makes the worst cd's ever but his live sets are still amazing.

Believe me, I have heard him live. His Cd's, sets, both are terrible. I've downloaded several sets and they all suck. He has absolutely no idea how to put together a proper set. It seems shortly into his sets he'll drop some epic monster thats meant to be played as a closing track. Then proceed to drop huge epic tracks for the duration of the set to the point where its just boring.

Well all this is YOUR opinion. People like what they like. So Ravenstar what DJ would you say knows how to put together a "proper set"?

Most people on the Tranceaddit forum normally portray European trance DJs as God's. I think George is probably the foremost trance DJ in the US.

Red face

I still love George Acosta!

And some of these people spin Techno and House..not Trance
And some of these people aren't American. Not that I have anything against other DJ's of different descents.

I still love George!

Props to Carl Cox, John '00' Fleming, James Zabiela though.

Yeah its your opinion not trying to flame you for it. I just don't like the way he spins at all. Yeah most of those aren't trance DJ's. Part of that is just because there aren't a lot of really talented trance DJ's. I just listed people that have a lot of talent that can put together good sets. But every one of them is WAY more talented than George Acosta, no comparison. Again not trying hate on your opinion...I like seeing DJ's have no talent once in a while, its still fun. But when it comes down to it I know someone like Donald Glaude could rip apart the Tiesto's and Armin's (AKA N'Sync's and Back Street Boys of electronic music) while he was drunk, blindfolded and standing on his head.
