THE YANKEES WIN MOTHA FUCKAS!!!

TIME TO GO FISHING!!!

Posted by wallflower on Oct-17-2003 04:47:

Un-f'ing-believable that in both series, the team with the curse blows their lead with 5 outs to go, with their ace pitcher on the mound (with all due respect to the team that came back to win).
C'mon, let's see a happy ending or something, and see a new champ.

With that said, I hope the Yanks roll over the Marlins. If it were against the Cubs, things would be different.

The playoffs this year certainly have been exciting.

All I have to say is - whoever doubted that the Redsox were cursed by the Big Bambino, BELIEVE IT!

ME TOOOOOOOO goddamnit.

They must not have a salary cap in baseball because the richest team wins almost every year. Correct me if I'm wrong.

without looking it up. can any so called yankee fan on this fourm tell me the last world series before 1996 that the yankees won?

you'd be suprised at how many people can't. anyone that had to suffer through the tough years, i congratulate you on this win. for most that like to talk shit even though they just jumped on the yankee bandwagon in the last 6 years or so, fuck you, i hope the marlins kick your teams ass....

Posted by Vlad on Oct-17-2003 06:18:

Ive been a fan of the Yankees since before '96 and I dont know, off the top of my head I think it was '78 - I know they won back to back in the 70's. I became a fan of baseball around '90 when the Twins were kicking ass, and my cousin and friends got me into the Yankees. Donny Baseball is my fav. Yankee ever.

No need for that man. That's why they have so many soccer riots in places like the UK. At least in the US we don't have too much of that stuff, but yeah I hope the marlins kick some ass lol.

-Actually now that I think about it, soccer hooliganism is more linked to strong drunken feelings of nationalism whereas the "world" series is only a N.American phenomenon.

Let's go take it out on Canada. :P

Thumbs up

yanks own

Posted by Shamez214 on Oct-17-2003 11:21:

well, i completely and utterly refuse to watch one game of this world series. this went from being possibly the best and most exicting world series ever (cubs v. red sox) to one of the worst possible outcomes (marlins v. yankees). we went from basically all of america watching the WS, now to only half of the east coast. yankee and marlin fans are happy... baseball fans are not.

I am a huge yankees fan (season ticket holder) and even I was kind of rooting for the cubs v. redsox. That would have been the best World Series ever and fixed baseballs ailing ratings. The Yankees being in AGAIN coupled with the apathy in Florida makes for another HO-Hum series.

no need to compare soccer and baseball; one is a good game and the other is not !

Yea really ... the yankees have been to the world series 36 times. Who's going to give a shit about this one?

I too refuse to watch this series.

/pissed at the loser cubs&sox

shame on all of you who don't!

and baseball is baseball, no matter what teams are playing.

because no true yankee fan would ever root for the mets had they made it this far. plain and simple rule of sports. never root for the enemy.

huh???? and who is rooting for the mets that is a yankee fan...???

Posted by pvd420 on Oct-17-2003 16:11:

let me spell out my post a little clearer so that you can understand it...if the mets were in this position, you wouldnt find any yankee fans rooting for them.

it is good to see that you know that the yankees won in 78. alive then or not, if you have been a yankee fan for more than a little while, you should know that stat. it's not like i asked for you to name the years of all 26 championships.
