Review of J00F: Fresh and Sound Emporium

So that was sound emporium huh? They had seats at least.
Flemming was from beyond...he dropped track after track...played some key Infected Mushroom and Astral Projection. Loved how he started off hard and then switched to a more trance-style (though still hard).
Worth every penny (and more...).

Not a lot of people showed up(~100, ?). But good community feel. But hopefully we represented T.O for Flemming. Big ups to Fresh and the other DJs for putting on the event (the sound was great btw) and for opening up for Flemming.
Disappointed at how System had to close early 4:30-4:45, no chance for an encore (or for Hahn's set).

Someone was taking photos...anyway I can get them(just pm me)?

and I don't understand why all of you would go and see cheesey pvd , and armin...and then totally miss this obvious beyond trance talent show....shryer...shame on you buddy
I can't say a whole lot about what happened last night , other than it was incredible, this guy deserves to be main stage at the Kool Haus
the sound was perfect...it was one hard kicksteppin journey
can't wait til this guy comes back

whatever...Armin and (especially) PVD were incredible. Cheese? They both spun nice, hard sets and MO was his usual brilliant self.

Don't ge me wrong, I love J00F too, and would have been there to see him again, but it was Scumfrog's first TO appearance last night...so that's why no one showed up...everyone was @ System and had an excellent night

but I definitely second that motion...J00F at Guv or Kool Haus next time!!!

u should realize that majority of the TAs ahve seen J00f several times before..once being at viva early this year and that was more than just an experience

You don't understand for the same reason you have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

We all support J00F, it was piss ass timing (promoters) to bring him in on the same night as the Scumfrog (w Luke) and not to mention 80% of us recovering from the best weekend out in a LONG time.

Dude, you ruined the review thread. Not the people forced to defend the fucking best set we've ever heard in the KH (re: Paul Van Dyk)

Yeah, it's a review thread for J00F...but at least my post was clearly very positive towards him.

As for PVD, I really don't give a crap what someone produces if they can throw down a set like he did last weekend. Maybe his production work is getting cheesy, but live he was incredible. The review thread for PVD's night suggests quite a few others would agree.

You have to expect that people will respond if you call other DJs "cheesy"...yeah, you're entitled to your opinion, but what if I posted that I didn't go because it's my opionion that J00F is overrated? You'd reply, freak out, and defend him I'm sure (and no, I don't actually feel that way, it's just an example).

You just sound upset that than the turnout for J00F was weak...so instead of knocking other DJs, even as a joke, go complain to the dumbasses that booked him on the same night Scumfrog was making his TO debut and the weekend after Armin & PVD. We all know J00F would otherwise have drawn WAY more people than he did this time around...

Hey be nice ... it's ok to have your own opinion, but putting other djs down , both Armin and PVD were amaazing period, great selection and great mixing. trust me no regrets .. you should've seen them there before making a cheese comment!!!

it's too bad that this thread has gone in this direction. i was hoping to hear some actual reviews. i was unable to attend either friday night event (J00F or scumfrog) b/c i had to work at 8am saturday.

kevin earth: maybe if you had just stuck to positive reviews about the performance you would have done a better service to J00F. you lose credibility when you start slamming other dj's IMO.

Fresh boys, you did an amazing job on this event, but I think the planets were just out of alignment that night. You really couldn't have put on a better event! Honestly, I didn't talk to a single person that wasn't having an absolutely amazing time. The people were in high spirits and the music was killer. Props to all the DJs that night, but Fleming was seriously pounding the place. I haven't been to such a fun party in a looong time.

It really was unfortunate that they shut the club down early.. I was really looking forward to hearing Dennis spin too.. I know he had some surprises up his sleeve. Ahh well... you did us really proud guys! SOOO many 'thanks' for the wicked time. I can't wait for the next one!

Thanks for the support Tim, and thanks to all those that came out to witness such an amazing set. In spite of the lackluster turnout John proved that he's a consumate professional and played an absolutely amazing set. We did our very best!

Actually we had John booked before System got Scumfrog; it was originally Seb Fontaine @ System that night which would not have been an issue. Secondly, I'd like to think that the Toronto scene is healthy enough to support an event like the one we had on a different weekend than Armin and PvD. Obviously the scene isn't what it was.

It's morons like you that make it not even worth our time and hard earned money to try and keep an otherwise withering scene alive. Instead of sitting on your high horse and name calling the people who really tried to do something so snot nosed punks like you have somewhere to go on the weekend I suggest you try it yourself.

i don't think that constitutes ownage. i think it's an unwise PR move to lash out on a public message board. i think it's understandable to explain the situation (re: the change from fontaine to scumfrog etc).

I think it's difficult for many party-goers to understand some of the logistical difficulties and things that come up in planning parties and whatnot. I think this was Fresh's first TO party, and I'm sure they learned from it. The scene isn't what it used to be, and throwing parties can be difficult, especially when you are going up against superclubs like the Guvernment.
