Do you ever get sick of music?

I had a rather considerable weekend in which I had only 2 or 3 hours in which I wasn't listening to music (literally, not figuratively - from 7am Friday until 2pm Sunday, I got 2 hours sleep on a couch). I kinda feel very apathetic to music at the moment. Does anyone else ever get this way? I hope the feeling goes away soon, cause I love my music generally.

After a big night out I sometimes listen to something different the next day.

No way...my parents keep telling me i'm going deaf cause i listen to it too much...bah!

BUT there are somedays i listen to nothing since i need a break...

I feel cheated if I don't have music playing @ some stage; or if i'm not tapping a beat. Music makes me breathe

Just had to call a client and got put on hold for a while, almost tearing my hair out over the music.

Hahah yes, last time i was on hold for over 30 minutes and i complained to the person who answered my call...not about the time...but about the music....i actually told him to put trance music and remove the classical music

For me i need noise in the background at all times (thouhg im pretty sure id be able to function with nothing but a tape of passing traffic!)

For me i do tend to get bored of a style of music pretty quickly.... i go through at least 2 or 3 genres a week, but thats cause i tend to play each style to death.... it means i get a good rotation of styles all the time, without needing to focus too strongly on one or another (though trance and prog figure very prominently most of the time!)....

Thats a bit of a ramble but i hope it makes sense....

Sumtimes we all get a little tired of repetativeness, but i don't think i can get sick of it.

I change genre's to watever mood im feeling at that present moment in time.

never get sick of music the more I listen the more I want to listen. I think music is the only thing that has got me through to the age I am.

Definately not ! music is like my cigarette (since I dont smoke), I need it all the time.

Posted by gumble on Oct-20-2003 07:57:

i pretty much listen to music all the time;

on the weekend trance / prog

weekdays - alt.rock/ some prog

thats just atm, when im studying, deep prog seems to be the best, until i get too into it :P

i really cant live without music, love it to bits.

Yes and no .. quite often I don't listen to music whilst surfing TA in the evenings, and I don't use my headphones an awful lot at work anymore. I always cane it in the car though

Posted by morphee on Oct-20-2003 16:44:

always.
I take my monitor headphones and mp3 player with me everywhere, I even sleep with music on, I HATE HATE HATE silecne (not the delirium type) and tear out my hear if theres no background music at least.

i only get sick of it after a big fuckoff night when i get back @ 9am, want sleep... but people prefer to turn on the computer and continue pumping choons... whilst they are choons, i get annoyed coz i've been listening to music for the previous 10 hours...

so i do get sick of them... but it doesnt happen very often, and USUALLY its imposed on me by someone else

meh, 10 hours, soft. Friday 7am - Sunday 1pm with only 2 hours (where I fell asleep on a couch with MissTrance mixing PvD behind me)

Yeha wish I had a copy of the K+D sessions.

not of music in general. only within genre's. i'll listen to different things week by week, or sometimes within the week. i'm not one who has to listen to music 24/7. when i commute to n fro the city on train, my headphones are on. in the car, the music's blaring. but at home or at uni, i won't be listening to anything. i'm not one to multi-task well. cant do work unless its silent. especially listening to mixes, i'll be listening out for transitions. or just for tunes, i'll get too involved in the little subtleties that make the tune great.

I don't get sick of listening to music. I'm one of those people that can't work in silence, so I'm always listening to something.

although sometimes I get sick of just listening to prog, trance et al, and I need to take a break from the whole dance genre and listen to something completely different for a change.

My collection is quite varied so I usually play whatever depending on the mood I am in or what I am doing.

Like someone else said in an earlier post, I go to sleep with either my clock radio playing or an album/mix from my sound system. Rarely go to sleep in silence, prolly 'cause I've been doing it like that since I can remember.
