what style of trance is this?

hi. im really getting into a certain style of trance. i always thought it was melodic and kinda still think it is. but a friend told me it was epic trance. the style im liking has long synth notes in the song (im finding this really hard to explane). il give u an example of the songs im liking, and i know they r quite old.

Rush & Murray - Epic (Above and Beyond Remix)
Kota - Waiting (Darren Tate vs. Mike Koglin Mix)
Ace's Delight - Mental Theme (Ultra Trance Remix)
Zed-X - The Storm (Jono Grant vs. P.O.S. Remix)

this is all i can think of atm.

so my questions: what style of trance is this? and do you know any other songs that are like this?
