HMV @ Yonge & Dundas
ok so i had 20 mins to kill and i decided to walk around opposed to the alternative (solve linear systems with more uknowns than equations... yey FUN). I decided to waste em glancing at some "electronica" titles @ HMV.
Let us say after very brief observation, i've concluded a fact behind a theory that i've had for a while.
Trance is not commercial cuz it's not labeled and recognized in big music stores. In other words: trance found me cuz i was lucky to have a bunch of ppl i call trance addicts.

Speaking of HMV, when are these bastards gonna get GU 24/7 Lee Burridge in??
they got Danny Howells...but I want Burridge dammit!!
I've seen a few popular trance albums there...mainly tiesto and pvd but other than that it's obviously lacking. but like you said, it's not commerical...
i hope it stays that way, cuz it seems that whenever a trance song is commercial everyone hates it. long live underground EDM!

where can I BUY Sander K's new mix?!
At a local store/not off the web?
not officially released in north america yet from what I hear....at least that's what hmv would tell you. It's renaissance, so it might take longer to hit toronto stores. You all realize tho that the stores like HMV and others all have the same supplier of cd's in montreal.
I use many different places to buy cd's.
The best to buy before they are officially released is amazon.ca because they always have lower prices for the cd's that are not officially released.
You just have to look in places. For older cd's, the used cd stores are great imo, now you have to look every so often and hope you get lucky cuz I have.
HMV is not great for harder to find releases but not bad to check.
I think finding what you want, takes looking and release does have most of the stuff you want. Just never the stuff I want for the price I want...hehehe
It's all ELECTRONICA now....no house, trance...just ELECTRONICA in HMV. The other stores have no fucking clue what electronica is, like tower or others. It's a shame because there are lots of trance, house and techno music lovers WANTING TO BUY CD'S IF THEY WERE AVAILABLE TO THE MASSES!.

"F" HMV...
Useless selection unless I want an infinite amount of top 40 or Billboard rated albums.
I avoid buying there at all cost.

the only good thing is that they let you listen to anything they have in the store...
I kinda like the fact that it's not commercial and "underground" instead. Makes it more special. I mean, most of us here seeked something different and found trance.
Personally, I'm completely different than pretty much 100% of the people I've ever known (not in the personality sense, but mind-set sense). This includes what I listen to and everything.
If trance became mainstream, it would suck, cuz it would be like "the secret is out and everyone listens to the shit I discovered way back when and only I listened to". Like lots of times I will be listening to a cd full of trance, and someone will ask "what is that you're listening to?" I'll say "trance". They'll look confused, naturally.
After a quick listen, they'll be like "oh, you mean like techno", or "oh, like dance music, right?".
Then I just go "no not really, sort of... it's called trance". This reassures me that I'm totally 0wning them in the 133tness department. I hope you're all feelin' me, cuz I might be sounding a bit sellfish, lol.
i usually buy most of my cd's from hmv. the last time i went i saw italio hitz by tony monoco
, and it was in the trance section too. of course i never picked that up, instead i bought a couple of ministry of sound compilations.
