I would say yes, I loved it, all tracks are lined up perfectly one after another, you can listen to them non-stop, sort of like a live mix.

uplifting/ambient/vocal trance

some tunes are old, but masterpieces, like Communication.

to be more serious, yes it is worth buying! Brilliant CD!!

Posted by Psionic on Oct-21-2003 22:21:

I wouldn't recommend it. I personally didn't like it that much.

Decent Trance!

Decent but I expected more from Armin personally...he didn't need to put 'communication' or 'blue fear' on there either.

Well let's just say this, I would recommend you get this CD rather than PVD Reflections....any day.

I'd recommend saving your money and not buying either since they are both crap

i think that 76 easily ranks high on the list of 'artist' albums. there are many beautiful melodic tracks that become better and better the more times you hear them. i was very happy with this cd, though admittedly, it takes several listens to appreciate it all. basically, if you like armin's style, i don't think that you'll be disappointed by this. the only artist album i like better is probably pvd's 'out there and back'....

Too bad that's the only time he used to make good music, that is long gone.

Just about every artist out there is experimenting with new sounds... and can you blame him/her? Wouldn't you get tired of making the same kind of music over and over again? It's nice to be able to do something new once in a while... think of it like studying in school, as much as you like your major, it's nice to take an elective once in a while.

76 is awesome. what do you expect from these people anyway? PvD and Armin are both trying to please a crowd of hundreds of thousands.. they have to put something in for everyone or risk losing fans.. appreciate it for the sheer massiveness of the attempt.. can you imagine trying to cater to that many people while keeping the record companies and your own personal taste in music satiated? It's impossible. What they are able to put out is a mish-mash of all these expectations. Dont expect something everyone will like. that's not possible. And remember these are still PEOPLE. They have no supernatural powers. If you think you can do better, youre welcome to try.

I finally got this cd and i love it!

If you want to hear good artist albums, you need to think outside the box. Listen to Sasha's Airdrawndagger or BT's Emotional Technology. Both of those are what I consider artist albums worth the money.

I would recommend buying it. Great tracks, great productions, Armin is the man

My personal favorite artist album:

Hybrid - Wide Angle

I generally don't listen to breaks that much, but this CD to me truly represents electronic MUSIC, not a collection of Anthems that are looped over and over and have pre-progrmmed percussion build-ups. Any of BT's albums and Sasha's Airdranwdagger are both fantastic as well.

I've only heard some of the tracks from 76, I"m sure the cd is much greater in it's entirety. I'll be sure to give it a listen.

Posted by Evil_Gnome on Oct-22-2003 02:44:

Yes, Airdrawndagger is also a great cd!

Outside the box?? Sasha and Bt are two of the biggest names in electronica.. that's hardly "outside the box." but yes Airdrawndagger is also really good. But the two styles are radically different. Difficult to compare ambient/breaks/deep prog with uplifting.. just 2 worlds apart. Depends on personal taste which one you like better.
