Computer Problem
I'm having a problem where my computer is running really slow. About every 5 sec. the working in background and busy icons pops up. And when I CTRL+ALT+DEL there are a shitload of Wscript things in the window. I click end task on them and it says "program is not responding" and still stays in the box. Does anybody know how to fix this? It's annoying as hell!
Go to start...up to run...click on that.
In the run field type in: msconfig
Click on the starup tab at the top
Uncheck anything and everything that you see in regards too Wscript
Click apply, reboot and that program should stop running next time you boot up, and hopefully will stop your problem.

Hmm...I think I might have found out what the problem is. I have a virus, the Wscript.KakWorm
Read about it here: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ve...pt.kakworm.html
Fucking Outlook Express...I've told my parents the things that can happen with it before but they don't listen and it seems that I've gotten this virus from that. Well, if any of u know how to get rid of these things please help. I've already scanned with McAfee Antivirus.
Yeah, I've done that msconfig thing already. I didn't see anything that shouldn't be in there, but I don't know what the vital things are that should be so I'm not going to mess with that all that much.
I ran a program to get rid of that Wscript.KakWorm but it didn't detect any and now I'm getting about 30-50 of these Wscript things in the box when I CTRL+ALT+DEL, rendering my computer basically useless...they're eating up all my system resources (I have 192MB RAM too).

U can get some AV progs from here, I trust this site completely:

Anywayz, gl with trying to defeat the virus, after killing it, maybe u should go update ur outlook express and windows protection thru windows update (ie -> tools -> windows update)
Crusader
Should do the trick
Get an anti-virus program called Anti-Viral Toolkit Pro (AVP).
I don't know the official website but just download the demo from there and then its easy to find a crack for it on the net. It is supposed to be the best virus scanner out there it works wonders for me.
Hope this helps!!

*bump* anybody know how to fix that last problem? nothing big, but it can get annoying.
I think that you may have the security on your browser turned all the way up.
To fix this in I.E. 5 go to:
Tools--->Internet Options--->Security
There should be something in there to solve your problem.
Hmm...I played around w/ them but it's still happening. Here's what the security settings are set to:
Internet: Medium
Local Intranet- Medium-low
Trusted sites- Low
Restricted Sites- High
If you click the custom level button while still in the security tab, you can pick what you want for security measures. The first 4 or 5 all have to do with active x. Try that maybe it will work???
Yea, what he said above, but its better sometimes to have warnings then to allow them, some activex controls are nasty, and can do some bad shit on ur comp, not just put links in ur favs or changing ur start page, but as extreme as changing ur dial up settings to a new number!
Crusader
Yeah I have mine set so that it prompts me whenever an active x control comes up. Better for me to just deal with clicking a button every now and then, than fixing my comp because I was lazy
