childhood dreams

when i was 4 years old i had a dream to become a veterenarian, then i wanted to be a children's doctor, then i decided that i wanted to be an austronaut and a ballerina.... and now 15 years later i am graduating from university with honors in statistics and comp. science lol
quite a change

how did it work out for you guys?

Well, I always wanted to join the Airforce, but since my ex is there (and we broke up because of that!!!) I'm not quit sure what I want to do. Probably finish my school and get a nice job in some fancy company LOL...

Hmm, I know what u mean, Ive got 1 year till university, and tbh Im not really sure wtf I want to do as a degree. I was thinking maybe something to do with money or management (business studies, economics, finance), but then I think maybe I should do something in computing. I mean I spend most of my time on my comp ( ), so maybe I should do something in computing, but then the idea of doing programming put me off (dull or what, same concept as accounting - zzzz ).

I sometimes say to myslef: do i want to spend the rest of my life working in front of a computer screen?? Bahh the mind bogles, and the cookie crumbles

I think I need a holiday, but what holiday is to be had when ucas forms have to be thought about, uiversity open days planned, as-level grades thought about, what i want to do when im older, and how im gonna spend 2moro and the rest of these days they call a "holiday"

I think Ill go philosophise some now

well...for as long as i can remember i wanted to be an archaeologist...i luv history...i read about it, i watch about it on t.v. etc etc...unfortunately i was a punk in school and screwed myself....now i'm a Tech Service Rep. for a Chemical Comp. which isn't bad but not what i really dreamed of doing. The money's good so i guess i'll stick with it....but, school is coming back into my life in the fall, while i'm still working so hopefully i'll fullfill the dream of doing something more to my liking in the future.

I always wanted to be a marine biologist but that dreamed just faded away a few years ago. Then I wanted to do something with computers but thats beginning to fade too. So know I don't know what the hell I'm gonna do...I still have 2 years of high school so I hope I'll be able to figure it out.

but then i found i loved announcing hockey, and the people loved me, so here i am, about to start my 2nd year of radio, and some day you'll hear me on radio 1 in the uk

as a child i wanted to be a vet until i realized u actually have to deal w/ really hurt animals and even watch them die or kill them yourself.. fuck that.

when i got older i wanted to be an interior decorator(prolly what ill go to school for) singer, actress, math teacher in an innercity school, psycologist(dont want to be this anymore but i will definitely study it for sure... one of my most favorite things), a chef(still might go to school for that..for personal intersest/maybe a small side job), computer anything, special effects artist for movies(i wanna make one of those trippy videos for when u are on acid).

Well My dream has somewhat come true. I'm an Engineer, I design aerospace parts for jet engines among other things. I bought a house about 4 years ago at the age of 25. I still want to go back to school though. One thing hasn't happened but I guess in all due time I haven't found the right woman yet. Thats another thread LOL!!!

I always wanted to be a football player, prolly comes from my uncle who played pro for 19 years as an Offensive lineman...THen I didnt get big, so I change to Olympic Wrestling(freestyle) and I came 6th @ Canadian Nationals, next year I was too sick too compete @ Nationals, and the next season I messed my knee up. Now I wont be able to do either on a high level..So ive relegated myself to Ethics

Well i cant really remember what i wanted to be when i was young,when i got the age of 15/16 all i wanted was money to go out in the weekends,so i took jobs to get it but it was not what i really wanted.
i was right into a *jobdip* getting kinda depressed when the opertunity of following a study to become a nurse.
I still dunt know why i did it cuz i was 19,a party-animal doing everything god didn't liked much,and NEVER even had the thoughts of becoming a nurse...
Butt i did and now 11 years later im so freakin glad i did,no other job could give me more satisfaction,i work with people who dunt even know their still on this planet,they've gott their own lil world,cant go outside nomore cuz the doors are locked.
And im so happy i can give them that smile on their face,let them feel comfortable,its all they've got left...
And all peeps who know me still dunt understand cuz i was a freaking nutcase;p
And i still am,but thats all they need,a nutcase who loves them

yes i am double majoringin stats and comp science, but in the last 3 years i grew to hate computers (thanks to my profs) , so i'm gonna do my masters in stats i know many people say it's the most borring science of all, but i really like it

That's a new one. I usually hear the curriculum is outdated, especially comp sci here. I like the technical institutes here. It's more diverse in specialization and has close partnerships with corporate businesses, unlike UofC.

Stats sounds like actuarial (sp?) science?

My dream's to get into graphic design or advertising. It has been for ages now, but the problem with advertising is there are so many assholes in it, and so much of it is office politics. And even then i want to make great ads, not shitty gimicky, crap ads. I wanna make stuff like the Guiness surfer ad, and their snails ad, pure quality sort of stuff, but what a product advertiser want's maybe something totaly different. That's why graphic design is taking over more, cause you tend to have more freedom... but less money. Awww, why's there always a problem!

I've alway's dreamed of doing some 3d modeling. Using Maya, or 3d studio max. I would like to do a good 3d movie i.e. Final Fantasy, things like that, cause then you dont have to deal w/ stuck up actors, you just need voices, and you can make your own worlds, and do anything you want. Unfortuneatly I havnt the time to really get into it, so I have to wait till college ! I have some really good idea's, and I can even through trance in wherever I want! LOL..

-But thats my dream, just to make worlds, and invite people in to see what they look like, and let them enjoy what floats around in my head all day.

If all else fails, I could just be PVD's prodigy hehe..
