What are your most fav/least fav holidays?

K ppl. Question of the week: What is your most favorite holiday and/or least favorite holiday of the year? My fav is Halloween. And my least fav are 1. Xmas 2. Valentine's Day. I treat Xmas and Feb 14 as funeral days: I dress in black for them. PTUI!

my fav are halloween and Christs Mass Xmas means nothing, literally. Its for non-christians who want to celebrate gluttony and materialism.

other than that...nothing is cool. Halloween is partying, Christmas is getting together with your family and feeling good about giving away all of your money hehe. I just love hangin out with my parents on that level, I dunno why, its always closer.

My favorite holiday is Australia Day (which I celebrate every year even though I am not australian and don't live there)

Stupidest holiday is one of thsoe made up Candy Company/Hallmrak/Florist conspiracy holidays.

Best holiday - any holiday you get off for no particular purpose

Worst - thanksgiving, w/all the bullshit involved in pretending to be nice to your distant relatives, giving thanks on an individual basis is enough, not being forced to give thanks for how much you 'enjoy the company of relatives' who visit you once a year and are annoying as fuck

Agreed i hate the commercial build up, I'm not a cristian nor at all religious but i do like it when my family get together and have a meal on xmas day. Rather than having religious connotations its more securing of a family feel (for my family at any rate) I'm trying to get my parents to stop buying presents, which all being well and nice i think the money could be spent on better things.

sadly, most people celebrate holidays for the celebration itself insted of the idea behind the celebration. personally, i love thanksgiving and hate Labor Day. Ive never had a Labor Day off so whats the point of a holiday im watching from the outside, looking in?

last year it was the 23rd maybe its the 3rd friday...I dunno exactly. There are countdowns as it comes up so its easy to find

My fav is the week n/b/t Christmas and New Years. I love them both... Christmas because of the lights, the homey feeling... New Years because of the feeling of starting over even though you're really not. I like the week n/b/t because I usually just end up spending time with my closest of friends and family and sitting in the jammies with the fireplace burnin' and hot chocolate in my hand... Just nice

Least... I suppose it has to be Vday... simply because its depressing for anyone who isn't in a relationship... and its just a pointless holiday created sheerly for materialistic purposes. All that spending money and making it a special day... pfft. My ex and I skipped that holiday last year. I took care of him b/c he had his wisdom teeth taken out that day. :/
