Numark TTX1 Direct Drive Turntable http://www.djmart.com/numttxdirdri.html
Behringer PRO MIXER DJX700 http://www.djmart.com/bepromidj1.html
SONY MDR-V700dj headphones http://www.djmart.com/sonymdrv700.html

i think you should get a set of 1200s and forget about that piece of crap behringer djx700 and get a vestax or a numark mixer for that money. this is coming from someone who likes behringer's studio consoles. their studio mixers are nice but their dj mixers are shit. it's just a djm600 knock off. the faders suck compared to the 600, the effects are useless, the eq's have deeper cuts but they aren't set up at the same frequency points as the 600s. the 600s eq section sounds much better. and besides, it's just lame to have a knock off. as for the headphones, well that's really a personal choice. i've used the 700s and they're fine for mixing in a club, i use the hdj100s but that's just my personal choice. a pair of headphones is not going to improve or worsen your mixing skills as long as they are a decent pair that get's loud and stays clean.

2 Technics 1200M3D
1 Pioneer DJM600 or Vestax PCV275
Pioneer HDJ1000s

You'll be much better off.

I like the MDRV700 over the HDJ1000, it is really a matter of preference. I've used both. I own the V700.

I like the TTX1 over the 1200s. I've used both. I own the 1200s.

I'm buying a djx700 so I can't tell you how it is until the shop FINALLY GETS THEM IN! I've been waiting ALL WEEK!

if you want some trully accurate monitor phones get the ultrasone hfi-650 trackmaster at meier audio (type meier audio into the yahoo search). they block lots of sound and are foldable... and low radiation too the v700's aren't really very accurate.

No offense, but why does everyone diss the Behringer ? Not everyone is made of money, and the mixer seems like the best bang for the buck. Your recommending mixers twice as expensive because it's too "lame to own a knockoff" ?

i dont think that anybody really thinks that the behringer djx700 is as good, or the same as the pioneer djm 500/600. its a four channel mixer with gains and eqs, and some effects that you may or may not like or even be able use for $200. a bunch of people on this board have the djx 700 and like it. puh-leeze stop trying to compare it to the djm 500/600. your right, they look alike. whatever. if your looking to buy a $200 mixer the behringer is a good choice. i dont think that anybody with a $1000+ that was gonna get a DJM600 is going to stop and buy a behringer instead (and vise versa).

like i said, i like behringer's studio mixers but the fact of the matter is this... their dj mixers suck. the output sound is sub-par, their eq section is crap, their faders are crap and for the same price you can get a 2 or 3 channel numark that's much better. you can find a used vestax for the same price that will sound better. hell even a used gemini umx series mixer will cost less and sound a lot better. the problem is that it *is* a cheap knock off of the djm600 and the effects unit is absolutely useless and that's unacceptable. if you're going to spend the time and money to build an effects unit into a mixer why would you just put in a piece of crap? because your not trying to make a good mixer, you're trying to make a buck! all behringer dj mixers are cheap knock offs. the dx052 is a vestax knock off. the djx400 is a djm-300 knock off. the dx626 is a gemini ps626 knock off. their just crap. below is a list of mixer that while only have 2 channels still have 4 inputs (which i just fine for a bedroom setup). and lets be real, how many bedroom jocks actually need 4 full channels? this list of mixers not only sound better but they are the same price or less and are a much better value. this doesn't include higher end used mixers that you can find for a song.

tascam xs3 (you can buy a tascam for less!)
vestax pcv002u
ecler concept-2 (an ecler for god's sake!!)
numark dxm03
stanton sa3
stanton sk6f

now maybe if behringer would make the dj mixers they were capable of and come up with their own designs instead of knocking off everyone else's, put some decent faders and design a half way decent eq section then i would show them some respect. until that time however i'm going to tell it like it is. remember, this is coming from someone who actually likes behringer products so i'm not bashing them because they're "inexpensive", i'm bashing them because they deserve it. cheers.
