Smiley DJ Here's a little question for you that you all should know.

Here's a little question for you that you all should know, because we all love it soo much.

1. Who invented sound playback and what year?

2. Extra credit, what was the device called?

I just took a Test final over this and wanted to share. I know the anwser, but you have to guess first.

Thomas Edison in 1877, and the device is called the Phonograph, and the first recording was "Mary had a Little Lamb"

P.S. My hometown is very close to his house and labs, and I'm a Audio Engineering freak

Bet you never expected a topic like this to arise... Unless this was all planned out. Hmm... Elaborate scheme!

Dunno

Sorry but that was all DeComp himself... I'll give you a harder one. Who made the first multi track recorder and when? Ha that is harder. You'll prolly have to research on that one.

pff... easy Les paul in 1948 with the track called "Brazil" and the first album to use Muti-track was from the Beatles called "Sergeant Pepper"

I was too lazy to check my notes

The muti track "recorder" was invented by lez paul in 1952 not 1948. I think you worded your anwser differently than how i asked. It's ok you still got me again, because all of your anwser is true. Even harder one, who reintroduces the 33 1/3 Lp, when, and why did it need to be reintroduced? Oh and who developed it in the first place and what year?

Ahh, I read your question wrong. Peter Goldmark in 1948 developed the 33 1/3 LP. I cant remember who reintroduced it.

My performance is below Par, I must go study now.

Well enough with the questions because i got ya on this one. RCA developes and introduces the 33 1/3 Lp in 1931. The "depression" became a factor for production of the 33 1/3, so they stoped making them. After the depression Columbia reintroduces the 33 1/3 Lp in 1948.

That was fun and games. You have any trivia for me.
