Playing Footsie... quite good!

I'd say nice techno

new time new place = my favorite tune this year.

gandalf!

and they are techno or techish depending on the track

Posted by Psionic on Oct-26-2003 13:56:

Yeah, and Awesome is either tech trance or techno.

All could (and should) be categorised under 'techno', though some Jeff Mills purists may disagree. It's Picotto though - always creating his own sound.

back to cali - trance/techno? either way, love it.

yes, it'd categorize them as techno, although we could get a little more anal and categorize it by sub-techno genres, like funky, techy, or whatever. best part is they rock.

Trance.

I'd say Awesome is a Latin funky Techno mix.
I prefer vocals though myself and I'm not knocking latin stuff.

Take Kate Ryan singing Free Your Mind for example, that has a definite latin flair to it.

Tech-trance.

Posted by Stassi on Nov-09-2003 03:21:

techy techno :-p

Mauro Picotto - Hong Kong is da best

Posted by razzi on Nov-09-2003 16:04:

you wrote awesome, but i think you meant amazing (both by picotto obviously..) so i did a little genre check on both (imo at least)

_____TECHNO_____
awesome - tech-techno
amazing - techno
playing footsie - funky techno
new time new place - tech-techno

_____TRANCE_____
back to cali - trance (a bit too commercial for my liking)

bottom line is that picotto is an awesome (or amazing hehe) producer who doesnt really conform to a genre... just does what he wants.. gotta love it.

btw i highly recommend mauro picotto - coldfunk and eric sneo - ciao bella.

where is the latin in amazing exactly?

Posted by GT40 on Nov-10-2003 11:18:

New Time New Place: Hard to call really but I'd go Tech Trance.

Awesome: Techno

Back To Cali: Trance

Playing Footsie: Techno

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Nov-10-2003 15:19:

i would say its more hard tech (awesome hong kong ) regular techno would be like sven vath's stuff wouldnt it?

Posted by zarathustra on Nov-10-2003 16:25:

I find that Picotto's tracks generally lie within the vast boundaries of the Hard Ambient Symphonic High NRG DnB genre.
