Problem with CDJ500s skipping

One of my CDJ500s players is skipping. Not really badly, but of course when it does it's really annoying (and totally screws a mix if it happens near the start or end of a track). This happens for both commercial CDs and CDRs.

Anyone got any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks!

lens cleaner
Check the cds for scratches
Vibrations transferring to the cd player and skipping it

Thanks for the suggestions. The CDs aren't scratched, and I don't have the music loud enough to get many vibrations (I don't think). Besides, aren't CDJs supposed to be very skip resistant? Like, you can pick them up and shake them and they don't skip...

I'll try the lens cleaner though.

Spot on, lens cleaner has cured the problem

Thanks for the advice!

I would suggest it is probably the quality of the CDs you are using (even some commercial CDs are made poorly). I read a while back on the PioneerDJ forums someone with the same complaint. Pioneer responded that the CDJ's are made to be used with professional quality CDs and just because a CD is commercial doesn't mean it is professional quality; sounded like to me that Pioneer was passing blame on some else. I have two CDJ800s and only use commercial and burned Mitsui CDs and I have not had them skip once on me. I suggest trying to see if high quality CDs still skip.
