Posted by Chris Crossland on Oct-27-2003 22:35:

Yeah dude i guess my sister is about 15 miles away from that fire shit you guys are close

Posted by Lumps on Oct-27-2003 22:37:

That's scary man.

I remember driving through BC when the big fores were ravaging through Barrier, etc.. The aftermath was sick. I hope the fire gets extinguished soon, man.

Posted by Chris Crossland on Oct-27-2003 22:39:

Lets hope it don't get to your house that would suck major arse. if it does burn down what happens with the insurance n stuff

Posted by justin on Oct-27-2003 22:39:

Hell I didnt have to go to work today because the fires are so close... I work outdoors in the mountains on a range.
but i'd much rather see them put these fires out soon than get a day off werk.

i hope you still have a house...thats rediculous. i saw the fires in Colorado two summers ago, but thats something else.

doesnt look like your house survived|

Posted by Trancention on Oct-27-2003 22:54:

I am sorry to see it is getting that close to your place. I am used to seeing huge fires like this, I used to live in Nevada and California for some time. Such a late season fire this year? Do they know what sparked it yet? This makes me want to become a firefighter even more. When I used to live in Reno and Winnemucca every summer I would work for the BLM and go fight wildfires in the mountains and around the cities..man those were the fun days. Anyways, I hope everything works out O.K. for ya.

that is just terrible

Posted by capricorn15 on Oct-27-2003 23:09:

there wasa fire a couple years ago in glendale, shit came withint like 2 miles of my house, but they stopped it, was about to go over the mountain. we had our shit packed up and everything, thinkwe video recorded it but yea, haha, hope your house is saved infinity

i heard on the news that some of these fires were arson, if so,then that reallly fuckin sucks, and its fuckin up the weather

Posted by Brady on Oct-27-2003 23:29:

Im pretty sure one fire was arson and another was caused by a hunter who shot off a flare because he got lost.

I hope they get this fire under control soon, and my dad is outta town and wont be able get his belongings if they have to evac where he lives.

Posted by _-MIl0 on Oct-28-2003 00:21:

d00d thats crazy i hope everything turns out okay, the pics stop in the worst place, did the fire reach your house or what? eather way thats terriable man.

Posted by Trancention on Oct-28-2003 01:16:

Picture from satellite..notice how you can't see much detail in cities or the sort..that is how big this is.

Posted by DarkAngel on Oct-28-2003 01:59:

That's gotta suck. Brings new meaning to the phrase, "There's gonna be a hot time in the old town tonight."

Posted by ambs on Oct-28-2003 02:02:

omg!!!! I' feel so bad for you!!

I dont really know much of what's going on, just a bit I saw on the news... I've never even been close to a fire...
Your pics gave me goosebumps! I hope your house survives!!!

It's so tragic, I hope it gets extinguished soon

Posted by whiskers on Oct-28-2003 02:31:

this is fucking ridiculous!!! man, that's really scary. i'm sorry to see / hear about this, it must be bad for all the people that are affected by the fires.

Posted by J.L. on Oct-28-2003 03:25:

that's terrible man... i feel sorry for you

on the other hand, those are excellent pics you took there and I'm sure a news agency or fire control agency are looking like pics like that..

Posted by TuanAnh213 on Oct-28-2003 03:46:

yeah i got a buddy down there in san diego...he was supposed to go to the charger game for monday night but it had to be moved because of the fires...hopefully everything calms down...socal people we up here in norcal are pulling for you guys

Posted by Boomer187 on Oct-28-2003 04:10:

I'd burn a huge 200 foot circle around my house. That way nothing near it can burn....although I would go to jail for burning the neighbors....its a small price to pay to keep your house intact.

yeah that fire is close to you, I feel real bad for those who lost their homes.

Posted by Andrew Muchmore on Oct-28-2003 05:49:

Thanks for all the kind words everyone...

In our area the worst has past....but it is still burning out of control in alot of places...

Hopefully things will get better in the next few days...

Stay safe anyone who's in the middle of this. Us Aussies know about bush fires and I'm sure most are sparing a thought for ya.

I certainly hope that you guys get some rain soon. It's doubtful it will be over until it rains...

My uncle says he can see the fires from where he lives (San Diego).
