is she alive?
so do you guys think that Cecelia is still alive? or is she dead in the bottom of a ravine or the lake?
I think that the likelyhood of her being found is slim to none. Sad, but I bet shes dead.
whats your take?
I havent followed the story.. I dont read local news much anymore.. my dad came down (to UofT) for dinner on saturday.. apparently this girl was kidnapped about 5 minutes from where I live..
tough issue to make any speculations about. but i tend to agree with you.
cops should spend more time preventing incidents like this instead of watching people's speed
how do you prevent something you have no way of knowing will take place?
think about this...the criminal may have no prior record, so the cops wont be looking for them...and are they supposed to watch every house, just to make sure that no one is breaking in and taking a child? they do their best by "patroling"
to be honest i dont like cops, cause they have harrased me too many times, but they are not able to prevent something like this, as easily as you make it seem.
i do hope she is still alive. But as time goes on...the chances fade.

i know there's no way to prevent certain things, however, there are better things cops can do than hand out speeding tickets to meet a quota, and why the fuck does it take 2 cops to write a ticket?
you know what i'm saying?? serve & protect, well, try to protect dammit
i think it's possible that she could be held for randsom and sent off to China to perform an exchange ..

You shouldn't worry so much about what happened to that girl - you should hope that she's found so the family can move forward. Yeah, it is sad. The news is depressing enough. I don't need to come on TA and see this shit. Someone delete this insensitive thread. |

I look at the elizabeth smart case, heck she was around 9 months before found. I hope the same for cecilla.
except young girls that go missing in Toronto have a nasty tendancy of turning up dead.
This whole situation is rather strange... a few days ago, the mother was making a plea as if the child ran away from them. Thus giving rise to the idea that these parents may've not been great parents leading up to this event.
thats true
but I dont think discussing a negative event before it happens is a great idea as well. Perhaps sharing comments about how people feel about this may be a bit better. I just didnt like how it was worded..."end up at the bottom of a ravine or lake"
It is a little insensitive, and as Halo mentioned, this is a public board, and someone may know her. So this thread may hit them way harder than any of us can imagine
You guys are spending more time hashing it out with each other than you are discussing this horrendous crime...
To the family of Cecilia - My thoughts and prayers go out to you and i hope and pray that she is returned to you safe from harm as soon as possible.
to me, you guys are twisting my words a little bit by only quoting half of the idea.
but whatever, im not PC, and I wasnt trying to pussy foot around or be eloquent. Just asking the question of do you think shes alive and held captive somewhere? or dead (and presumably dumped somewhere)
If the family hasnt thought of the potential that their little girl may not be found alive, then it would be my suggestion to 'wake up' Yes, there are the occasional good cases like the Smart girl, but I dont recall that many kidnappings with good endings. Its sad, but likely.
I hope for the best, but expect the worst. I hope that when shes found (alive or dead) that she was not 'touched' in the sense that I dont even want to think about for a 9 year old, and that the person(s) who did this are found and punished accordingly.

| Originally posted by j_spot When they found that girl chopped up on the side of the lake, nobody deleted that thread. Threads about Bernardo surface all the time.(well every now and then) Cecilias abduction is a current social event, and yes its horrible. My thought may be negative, but theres a good chance its the right one. I would hope she is found alive and well, and unharmed. then next found with the ransom, then next found harmed, and then found dead. Lastly I hope she at least is found. Not knowing would be the worst option possible for the family. this is open discussion, we could talk about if its coincidental that rammadan starts and there are 4(I think, maybe more) attacks on 'western' insitutes in baghdad, but that doesnt touch as close to home as the abduction of a little innocent girl. No need to delete or close. just talking here. |

i heard the mother living in the home was not her biological mother. i also heard that they are looking for the real mother in connection to this. i hope this is the case because then her safety is not in jeoprady.
Also the question I am wondering is how none of the 8 adults lving in the house heard anything. just seems a little odd to me.

It is a bit long to not have found any clues yet.
In the other snatching case, they found stuff pretty much the next day.
I have hope that she is in fact alive because they would have found her by now if she wasn't.
If I was a psycho killer, I wouldn't hide the body so well that noone can find it. What would be the point?
It is very possible that there is more to the story which the parents are not revealing to anyone. You never know.
