EQ's is it just my mixer?
now im not sure i know all the proper terminology, so bare with me.
i have a djm600 mixer, which ive only heard good things about with the eq's (the knobs that tweak the lows, mids, n highs) but if i turn the lows and mids off, just trying to keep the highs to cut in and out or whatnot, the volume is so low you cant hear it coming out of the main channel. so ive noticed i have to leave the eq's at about 1/5 of the way up just to keep the highs sounding loud enough to hear over the main channel playing. basically im wondering if anyone else notices this or is it the mixer? it is hard to hear the bass when its only 1/5 of the way up, but if the main channel breaks or whatnot for a second you CAN hear the lows in the background, and it sounds like a shiesty mix of 'blending' when that happens, im trying for cleanliness in mixing. i mean, i can get around this by 'knowing' my tunes better, but i was just wondering if anyone else experiences this with their mixers. thanks-
and again, sorry for the terminology and lack of puncuation, but i dont believe in it. hehe, puncuation just wastes typing speed.
the high EQ channels don't have alot of content(sound) in them. If you have a sound, 50% of the sound is situated in the MID area. 30% is in the LOW area and 20% in the high area. So, that's not alot of sound
