PvD vs. Tiesto??

Maybe this is old news, but anyways...

I read this interesting article on T.nu that PvD for the first time ever played a Tisto track, but that Tisto yet has to play his first PvD track...

what's up with this? have I missed something - did Tiesto nail PvD's wife or something, or is this just a fluke?

Posted by TeKnoHe@d2025 on Oct-29-2003 00:44:

I don't blame Tiesto for not playing PvD tunes...they're not good, simple as that. Tiesto's productions blow PvD's away by MILES.

Posted by Laszlo on Oct-29-2003 00:49:

I dunno really...neither Tisto nor PvD are big fans of mine...
The only tracks that I like from PvD is "For an Angel" and "Nothing But You".

My fav tiesto tracks are Traffic, Lethal Industry, his ISOS Rmx, and Flight 643. Other than that...naah...I was just curious..

This might lead to the biggest argument in TA History lol.

Both have amazing productions under their belts and are Gods that will leave their mark forever on dance music.

Then what the heck is all this hype around PvD for? Or is it just in Sweden?

LoL, I don't care if it leads to the biggest argument...I'll argue it to the death! PvD has not 1 "amazing" production under his belt! His productions SUCK...they're so simplistic they make me sick. Anybody who considers him one of the "big names" in trance music makes me even more sick.

The man can DJ, but he can not produce at all! Name me 1 PvD production that can go up against "Urban Train". When I say production I mean none of that rework/re-edit bullshit.

Posted by MrMiyagi on Oct-29-2003 02:12:

the two men can not be compared... their original works are completely different style... PvD mixes at a much faster speed (ok maybe not that much, but noticeably faster)... because of that, the songs he remixes tends to be non-vocal... whereas, Tiesto will keep vocals... look at his re-work of "Tic-Toc", imagine how that would sound with the vocals... because of the mixing speed difference, song of Tiesto's songs just dont sound right at PvD's speed, and vice-wersa...

*SIGHS*

Sometimes, I think this argument is worthless bc everyone has a right to their opinion....so here's mine:

All I say is listen to Avenue and Words and then tell me that van Dyk's productions are simplistic. One thing I will agree on is Rflections is a let-down and simplistic...other than that...van Dyk put his mark on the scene before people even knew who Tiesto was....

Both get my respect, but only one gets my Adoration

It is on some decks, but seriously who uses that shit?

Posted by VaNFeCto on Oct-29-2003 04:34:

Ive never composed a song in my life but it just seems to me that Tiesto's tracks are far more complex than PvD's I like PvD's tracks but I do think Tiesto's are better?

Am sorry, but who are you to tell us that PvD sucks?

You are not even saying, "I FIND PVD WORSE THAN TIESTO" but your saying that he just sucks and we all have to assume he sucks..

Who are you ? god?

Its a matter of taste ffs, you like tiesto..fine! but some people like PvD..

You are not even putting it in a opinion, but in an arrogant way..

go tell your dog, that PvD sucks!

Posted by Mebot on Oct-29-2003 04:54:

SO anyways, back to the question at hand....

Do PvD and Tiesto have some sort of animosity towards each other? I know about the tiff between Ferry and Tijs. hmmm Maybe Tiesto's style doesnt allow him to fit in a PvD production. i dunno

Please show me where I stated that I like Tiesto.

Plus, I have no dog to tell "PvD sucks" or I would...and seeing that it would be my dog I would bet that it would have enough common sense to know that he sucks already anyway.

Both these things are rumours.. PVD and Tiesto OFTEN play at same events. This year they even played at Love from Above(Loveparade preparty) together. So I doubt they dislike each other.

Btw, PVD has previously played Gouryella - Gouryella, and I think he played Nyana as well.

As far as Ferry and Tijs.. I've read on Tiesto.com (in his question & answer section) that Ferry is one of Tiesto's best friends.

Yea, seriouslly...how else could they make the amazing duo Gouryella.

Where/what did you hear about them hating each other Mebot?

As for the original topic of this thread, both are good at their own sh!t...who cares.

Posted by djSlain on Oct-29-2003 05:32:

i think ferry and tiesto are great friends. i've heard rumors abot violence sparking up with ferry and robert smit

and pvd's time is up

Posted by caddyshack on Oct-29-2003 05:33:

if there was ONE set that proves tiesto is a better dj than pvd what would it be? production?

i only ask because i've never been a fan and i'm ready to give him another shot; and instead of making another thread i thought this would be a good time to ask. thx!
