Question New afterhours club opening in downtown T.O SOON!!

Interesting ... I found this post on TorontoJungle

Alright what else do you guys know about this place? *from another board heh*

- Boa-Redux opening in mid-late december in the Yonge and Dundas area

- will open @ 1am and keep going until around noon (Montreal styles)

- big space with an AMAZING SOUNDSYSTEM

- some crazy talent coming thru their doors including Sander K in late December

- wont serve alcohol

- dunno but it looks like Most Wanted are involved with this

Anyone else have any info about this place? It sounds AMAZING!!! Cant wait to check it out in December.

Yeah, so you do what they do in Montreal, you drink BEFORE that, save yourself some money!

Besides, it's not like you go to any of the EDM clubs that DO serve alcohol.

Yonge & Dundas eh? right by work...so that means i'll be able to go to the club and then from there just cross the street and into work all sketched outta my mind

KarateKid

is this the place beside HardRock Cafe .. ??

it sounds as if some club lost their liquor liscense , renovated, and reopenned another a new name !

Posted by psychosomatica on Oct-29-2003 01:52:

sounds like Aria... Aria II maybe? hhaha

Posted by drgoodvibe on Oct-29-2003 02:00:

htrmm does this mean that since there will be no booze served that we're looking at $20+ covers even on regular nights?

Posted by SgtFoo on Oct-29-2003 02:05:

SOunds like an awesome venue to be!!!!

One problem I think though, is that the Yonge & Dundas area is already too congested, and a club neaby would be a bit more than desired human/car traffic.

Three possibilities:
1) It's just a rumour
2) It will become another "Zone"
3) It will get shutdown fairly soon after the opening.

I know I'm being pessimistic here, but that's a true reality about Toronto after-hours.

i dunno...at system i can't ever 'really' feel comfortable. i can't go and loose myself on the dancefloor or find my 'niche' to dance...lights too bright...dancefloor not big enuf ...can't see the DJ's properly...soundsystem sux (sore ears!!!) ...ARIA is like my living room...my second home...my drool and fingerprints are always on the glass of the dj booth at ARIA! hehe!

well...let's wait for the surprise!

P.S. I want a job there!

Posted by Endlesswave on Oct-29-2003 03:04:

hmmmmmmmm it also says that there will be dress code?? Ummmmmmm right...that will go over well. Esp with an apparently large venue.

Why would that be so hard to believe?

Film Lounge is PACKED on Fridays and Saturdays and they have a pseudo dress code. Im sure the new owners of this place dont want to attract the same crowd that goes to say for example GUV on a regular night and I guess this is a roundabout a way of ensuring that.

Believe it or not SOME people like dressing up when they go out/not being surrounded by dirties. Im glad to hear tha tthey'll have some sort of a 'style code'.

If I were opening up a club i'd do the same thing. Its a way of filtering out people that you dont want at your club.

Sounds good to me.

Maybe they'll follow Aria and bring in some HUGE techno deejays!

I hope?

Werd to that!

Posted by rabbitjoker on Oct-29-2003 03:50:

I just hope they have an 18+ age code.

Re: Dress Code - I happen to like wearing my sneakers and dancing clothes. That's part of the reason why SystemS and Guv are great!

Guv's code is apparently no athetic wear - but I always see fubu and basketball wear at the guv.

Save your armani and boss for platique, money, g spot, inside, hotel, fluid, etc... If I'm bustin' a move (and you all know that I like to bust a move) I don't want to wear my friggin' suit.

Posted by malek on Oct-29-2003 03:54:

haha disko-kandi, stop promoting aria like that, TA peeps will hate ya !

Posted by brunette on Oct-29-2003 04:32:

I hope it's not ZoneII, that is not what this city needs (I'd support the dresscode). Sander K, huh? SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

Posted by psychosomatica on Oct-29-2003 04:35:

How do you dance in dress?

Posted by Special K on Oct-29-2003 04:38:

easy!

And if you think that its too difficult for you then you can stick to going to places like Viva/System/GUV

END OF DISCUSSION!!!

lol

Straight up, foo!!

As long as they don't overdo it with the dress code, it's all good! And Yonge/Dundas area? Pffft, that's jokes... just hit that up right after my classes at Ryerson, 2 mins away, now that would be SWEEET!

And yeah, no alcohol? I see a hefty cover charge coming...
