-- Tiesto + techno
Tiesto + techno
K this is pure speculation on my part but does anyone think tiesto may be attempting to break into the techno world?
I know tiesto began attempting to spin bangin techno and was pretty much told to piss off by much of the scene, With his latest release of traffic which is a remake of an older techno tune and the more common appearance of techno tracks in his sets do you think tijs may be making a break for the techno scene.
If he does, I know he will have to do SOO much to gain even the least bit of respect by the techno fans of the world as far as a respectable act.
I HIGHLY doubt it. He's got nothing to gain by spinning techno, cause he couldn't DREAM of playing a proper techno set.

Who exactly within the techno world is hating on Tiesto? The Dj's, producers or fans?
he's not trying to break into the techno world. he plays some techno (as well as prog, breaks, even acid etc. ) to diversify his sets by using it as a contrast tool and to widen his sonic palette, that's all. after the whole awakenings rejection fiasco he won't try to fuck with those people again. he has said after that that he is known and respected for melody, and that's the way he'll remain. a warm uplifting tech-trance dj.

before tiesto had any residency, recognition or anything he was into bangin techno, this was back, way back, like the lyrics in that one gabber song lolz, i am talking in the days when he was handin out mixtapes jolz (at least this is what many people who were listening to electronic genres before tiesto began spinning tell me)
as for traffic the samples are from "psycofuk" by sean deason, says it right on the sleeve

| Originally posted by DJDigDug He began spinning hardcore in clubs, when he was wandering aimelessly he spun bangin techno, The person who told me this said his mate actually told tiesto to "Stop buying shit" when he asked to spin at the club they were in, this is pre hardcore days i am talking here, I knew tiesto spun that aswell. As for traffic, i never said it was a techno track, i am saying he borrowed samples from techno, that his producing eye is on techno It is blatantly obvious it isnt techno, even saying tech trance is addint "tech" to it in my eyes haha, just view it more as hard dark trance. Tech trance gets in the likes of BXR, bit of a different sound and feel than traffic has, either way traffic is a quality song And i know the difference between hardcore and techno, as i used to be into hardcore when i was younger. You are right big difference. |

you see the hassle picotto gets from "real techno" fans and he's always spun quite a large part of techno in his sets.
imagine if tiesto did this, he would lose all credability from trance fans and become the laughing stock of the techno scene.
its not going to happen
