So it's nice and early here...maybe some of you haven't made it back yet but...HOW WAS IT??? Pics...reviews??? ANYTHING?

Posted by ACA2000 on Nov-03-2003 16:11:

simply amazing!!!
seeing tiesto in such an intimate setting was definetely a treat!!
it was worth the 2 hours sleep and full day at work for sure!!
preach was UNREAL opening for tiesto, dropped bomb after bomb!!
and tiesto came up and did what he did best, rocked the crowd!! had everyone jumping til close to 4am!! the living is a great club, i would definetely go back!!
i'd post what i remember of a tracklist but it's a little early and i've barely slept so i'll be up for that later :P

I disagree ACA2000. Horrible night.

First, the place was overcrowded to shit. Aperantly they let close to 1000 ppl in (500 Capacity), according to the bouncer at the door with the counter (I dont know how accurate it was but my friedn talked to him for a bit when we were leaving).

Second, Tiesto... what a joke... he must have trainwrecked at least 4 times... and let the cued track play live 5 times. First i thought it was the sound system, like the bass carrying over.. but Preach's set was spot on.. super mixing!! The only thing that sorta saved tiesto was his trackselection.. he played soem nice tracks. Tracklist to follow.

Now third, The Fucking VIBE of the place. There was none. Honestly this was the worst group of "clubbers" i have ever witnessed. There was a couple of guys i just wanted to turn around and punch them out:P:P like cmon.. u know the place is crowded.. do u really have to jump up and down during every beat of a track.. elbowing/bumping into everyone around u?

Nice to see Mahlek there.. when he posts his pics im goign to look for the guys who were just beign stupid... circle their faces and post them here:P.. i hope some of them read these boards ... .. but dont get me wrong.. there was a lot of nice ppl there, just a couple of assholes ruined it for me

Tracklisting: (trying to keep it in order)

Agoria - 11th Marche
Li haydn - anything (G&D mix)
Firewall - Sincere ?
Three Drives - Carrera 2 (original)
Billy Paul Williams - So in love (markus schulz mix)
Tiesto - Traffic
new benni benasi track
Dave Gahan - Dirty Sticky Floors (Junkie XL vocal)
Way out west - mindcircus (G&D mix) <-- best track of the night!

we left at 315am so missed the endign of hte set.. mind it was getting better after i recognized a lot more.. just dont remember the names.

Rating:
Preach 10/10 - oustanding
Tiesto 5/10 - disapointing/ below average
Crowd 5/10 - read above
Venue 2/10 -- what club has 2 pillars right infront of the dj booth? sigh
Overall 4/10

Maybe im just bitter, but i didnt have fun at all. Hopefully others enjoyed the show from the "top" dj of the world... btw the whole "intimate" thing? i felt more "intmate" with tiesto at Aria on june 13th with 2000 other ppl.

Posted by ACA2000 on Nov-03-2003 17:02:

well i guess it's just my attitude towards events but being a promoter myself i can appreciate what kind of work is put into these types of shows and when i attend them, i don't let anything bother me. i look past things like big crowds and things like this and have a good time either way.

i do agree that tiesto did trainwreck a few times, but imo his track selection was great!! and i also do agree that prach was SOLID!! he always is!!

in terms of the vibe, i don't know how you can say there wasn't one. i was standing as far away from tiesto as possible overlooking the crowd and everyone was having a blast!!!! and i think the club was very nice as well, the 2 pillars in front of the dj booth most likely isn't by choice and has to do with building stucture. you can argue that the booth could be somewhere else but they don't have tiesto's at the living every week, this was an exception...

WHAT A NIGHT! I loved it so much the crowd was incredible... tiesto came a bit late i was affraid at 12h30 and people started to scream Tiesto!

Thanx to everybody honestly that was my best night since a while!

Posted by starsearcher on Nov-03-2003 17:06:

That's sounds so amazing i really wish i was there...Its sux i wish i was in MTL to begin with it seems sometimes like you guys have a much better vibe there not to mention DJs that I love, love going to play up there a lot more than here (Toronto) sometimes. So yeah...very jealous...PLZ someone post some pix

Posted by Biggy on Nov-03-2003 18:02:

Well,
there was 445 people in the main room and I know what I am talking about since I did the night. there was 150 more people upstairs for hip-hop but they were not allowed to go to the main room.

Man, Luke the vibe last night was just too crazy.
No vide in the place??? I have never seen a alcohol club going crazy like this in Montreal before.

Seriously, Tisto was off the hook last night.

It was my best normal club party of the year so far!

Posted by RnakR on Nov-03-2003 18:09:

guys did you see THE girl ????

Posted by ACA2000 on Nov-03-2003 18:15:

ya there's no way there was 100 people there last night, there is no possible way you could fit 1000 people in that room.

out of any regular club night i've ever been to, that was the craziest and best vibe for sure!!

Posted by starsearcher on Nov-03-2003 18:17:

THE girl? wow must have been something...*patiently waiting for pics*

Posted by John_H2O on Nov-03-2003 18:23:

I've to accord Luke, it was to packed. My night starting very well at La calche du sexe with some friend. After that I decided to walk to the club and drinking a big Molson Dry just to be cool when I'm arrived at Living

The club was ok but sound system is a little more cheap then at Aria, I've got noise in my hears when i'm leaving.
Preach was unbelivable, he pushed some good track and do good mixing

Tiesto was a bit dissapointing, he played some track I know, but nothing to be crazy. I F*****G hate the two big stupid colums in the middle of the dancefloor. Bad thing.

Anyway it was a good night, and be a different experience in a new club. Everybody see the girl with the monster chest!

Nice to see Charlie, Rnakr, science_404, and the other Ta's.

Peace
Jonathan

now now....that's not nice. I've actually talked to her quite a few times in person and on the Tiesto forum, though she never goes there anymore. She's a true Tiesto fan and she seems really nice, though I have trouble hearing her what with the noise and her accent. She was the sole reason I met Ferry Corsten last March, and she will probably be the sole reason I'll meet Tiesto....if I ever do.

to each his own opinion man...what i saw yesterday doesn't fit in your "nice person" you're describing... between other things, she's just a dj slut.

yeah, she knows all the Dj's....I doubt she was sucking Tiesto off during or after his gig though. Well actually I'll never know that for sure, but I don't care. I get along with her just fine. I'm a little jealous she gets so up close and personal with all my favourite Dj's, while the rest of us are stuck on the sweaty dancefloor...but hey.....that's what happens when you're arguably attractive like that.

Posted by ZinG on Nov-03-2003 21:04:

Preach played Boss@nova - stone cold (preach edit) w00t:P
without the cheesy vocals it sounds so energetic

Posted by starsearcher on Nov-03-2003 21:28:

Actually Smitty and I are again in agreement lol...Blanka is really nice (Yeah I was surprised too) and actually felt bad about thinking "badly" about her. I met her quite a few times and indeed like Smitty I started talking to her on the DJ Tiesto forums without even knowing who she was...to my astonishment I was really surprised to find out that she was the one I was talking to. So I guess its true you really shouldn't judge the book by it's cover. And yes, like Smitty I am also very jealous that she always gets close to the DJs...Tiesto...Ferry...Armin...and the list goes on and on...

Posted by alec on Nov-03-2003 21:42:

I'm in total agreement guys, I had a chance to meet her and talk to her aswell. Agreed she uses her body to get close to djs, but she is knowledgable about the scene! she's actually a model and not a stripper despite what most people think. I think she's east. European!

Posted by Biggy on Nov-03-2003 22:05:

She was cool.
