Record Cleaning
After using Gruv-Glide for a few months, i'm not really liking the results. When it was first applied it was really seemed like the thing to use,it appeard to be working great. Now, because of the film it leaves, my records are becoming dust magnets. Also it doesn't help living in the desert with all the dust. My records are looking muddy.
What I would like to do now, is just to be able to "clean" my records and that's it, no protective film
I've heard of different methods using diluted alcohol, lighter fluid,Buggtussel Zyme Gold, etc.
Any ideas that work for just for safe cleaning would be great.

can't help ya on the cleaning but I wanted to ask if you spin anywhere here in vegas? I don't see too many dj's from out here on this board.
I have never got into cleaning my records, I just wipe off anything that accumilated on the top with a rag or my finger.
Hey fellow Vegans
how is it going ... GruvGlide always works great for me ...you know Gruv Glide it from vegas...the person runs it out of here. But you having your records be more dust prown after using it is wierd it does the opposite usually keeps them cleaner.
honestly i find all of those cleaning solutions to be a ripoff... i mean, they do a pretty decent job in removing dust, however you can mix your own solution for much much cheaper... which will have the same outcome.

Gruv-Glide-2 works for me.
As long as you follow the directions on the sheet, everything should be fine.
Unless that is, you spray the stuff onto the record itself instead of onto the pads. If that's what happened...
The instructions were followed to the "T" for Gruv-Glide. What i'm finding out is; the film Gruv-Glide creates on the records (which by the way looks great at first) actually makes the dust stick even worse then if I had put no Gruv-Glide on in the first place.
I'm very tempted to go out and buy a VPI 16.5 record cleaning machine.
