paranoia

can someone please tell why i get really paranoid when i come down from whizz cuz it really messes me head up. as i come down from it i feel like everyones looking at me and judging me. i get it when i smoke weed aswell. i think i get it worse than most people cuz im like that anyway but when i take these substances it seems to amplify whats bothering me deep down inside my head. i had bad experiences at school due to bullying i think that might have something to do with it, im really self conscious cuz of the bullying. sometimes when im at friends after parties i dig myself into a hole and i cant get out of it and when that happens i have to go upstairs or outside to get away from everyone, its like i have absolutely no control over it. i'd basically like to know WHAT IS paranoia, whats happening in my head and has anyone els had the same experience cuz it really is a big problem 4 me.

thats the reason i quit smoking weed...got very paranoid felt like everyone was judging me constantly...only a few ppl in this world that i can smoke a joint with and chill....the rest i get paro as hell....but this only started happening after a significant event happened in my life....well alli can say man is quit the substances thats what i did....

I reached a point like that to. Everything I did just boiled down to the same sort of paranoia. I figured it was because I was doing so much at such a young age. *shrugs*

no matter what i take, i never get paranoid.
i get savage depression though!

Posted by squirrelly on Nov-04-2003 01:01:

I never got paranoia, well let me take that back, I did a few times, but that was only because I hated the people I was smoking with.

I quit that shit when one time the guy I trusted/smoked with laced the pot with PCP. Talk about hallucinations!

Paranoia, definition: http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=paranoia

n00bs

after smoking or whatever regularly for a while you don't mind the people around you, in the same way you don't mind about people everyday.

just takes a while for you to get used to it.

well, it took about a couple weeks not to get paranoid when i smoked weed, not that much .

Smoke in a "safe" place (ie friends home or something), until you get used to it.

Posted by zarathustra on Nov-04-2003 02:14:

For me the paranoia only lasts for a few brief moments while I "reason myself down" so to speak.

Posted by Chris Crossland on Nov-04-2003 02:28:

When i get like that it is just a phase for a few seconds and i freak out durring class and look around real fast n shit like im on drugs and and make animal noises and get finicky and swing around this small broom thats in the class and act like im in a battle zone but sometimes its fun and today i was freaking out we were having rubber band wars like where we roll up little paper and shoot it at each other and i crawl on the ground and eventually crawl up into a corner and suck my thumb shaking nervously

Too many ppl underestimate the real meaning of paranoia so they easily use it when feeling uncomfortable in a certain social environment. Let me tell you that real paranoia is not feeling a bit "out of place" or not trusting people...Paranoia is uncontrollable FEAR where u lose control and just wanna disappear. I experienced it twice, once while smokiing weed. Let me tell you it's not nice but I was relieved to read that its one of weed's potential "normal" effects.

yeah, u've hit the nail on the head there its something u have no control over. but i know so many people that have no problems with weed what so ever and i wonder weather there is something drastically wrong with me. it really duz seem 2 amplify whats bothering me in my head.

honestly, i think it might just be obsession... like you worry too much about things... OCD... obsessive-compulsive disorder.......

Tak the following ingredients and mix them in a bowl (well, a head).

Monomania
Hypochondria
OCD as mentioned by mr. whis.
Infinite Fantasy
Thinking too much in general

Put your testing object into an unknown social environment where he loses himself in lonely anonimity.

Voila, you've got your atomic disaster, a supernova in yor head leaving you disconnected from reality.

But I'm on my way to recover

Posted by tony1 on Nov-07-2003 00:31:

explain that in english please sounds interesting!!

what if i also have depression, incredibly active imagination, social anxiety, hate for others and other fucked up things ?

Posted by TranceGiant on Nov-07-2003 00:36:

Nah, you'll just steal my Best-seller idea
J/k...Im sill in the process of intense self-knowledge on that matter. I'll be able to write a retrospective once I can actually get a clear picture from the "outside", after finally leaving the phase behind me. As negative as such phases may be, they are definitely inspiring

dude, fuck happiness, happiness sucks, it's way overrated. when you're depressed you just see the world so differently and it's just so much more clear...

I'm not depressed. I never really was. It's got a different shape. But being in a state that is simply not compatible with "normal" everyday life reality definitely changed my fundamental way to see things. Basic principles are not taken for granted anymore and you learn to "understand" (as in : being able to imagine) behavior that contradicts normal social "values". I can now imagine depression, even though I never experienced it. I can now totally "understand" drug addiction. I can "understand" terrorist fundamentalist who prefer death over life. I realized the relativity of mind.

After all though I also learned that's its basically emotions that trigger everything. As in...nothing rational. I tried to fight my way out by logical argumentation but it only drove me deeper into a more complex labyrinth. The only way to exit is to simply not think. It's hard and goes against once pride but you (your "self" ) must cnvince yourself that this is how you klill "it" ( call it a disease, for convenience sake).

I hope some1 could somehow understand something

emotions control everything, don't they? but there's a difference between feelings and emotions... you can learn to control your emotions, but you can't control your feelings. and yes, everything in life is based on chemical reactions in your body. it's kinda more complicated, but we truly are like dogs in all its sense... reflexes.

and about the only way to exit... yes, i agree 100% - stop thinking, aka LET GO (fight club).
