John Titor: The So-called Time Traveler

I dont know if this is a repost but this guy named john titor supposedly time traveled from 2036 and started posting up on various science forums. i was skeptical at first but he says some interesting things and sounds very intelectual about everything... check out this site and let me knwo what you think

Still thinking about what is sadder: The fact that this guy has so much time on his hands. Or me being so bored that I actually give it a read

Some links:

It's an interesting story, but has some mistakes in it. Read the second link and you'll notice why...

Most of the same music you enjoy is available on archive. However the days of mega-stars playing multiple track studio produced music and lip-synching on a huge stage are pretty much isolated to your time period. Like everything else, music is much less centralized. The general trend is away from "computer generated" music and more toward real people playing real instruments. Music is much more of a personal experience. More people know how to read music and play together in small groups.

Sorry, anyone with a high school physics degree ain't buying it.

Read this:

Pretty much disproves it without reasonable doubt.

.

a high school physics degree? i want one!

i skimmed over that 'professor's' email reply...

" The Schwarzchild radius for the electron mass " - wtf is that? i'm sure he meant the Schwarzschild radius for a black hole - search for " The Schwarzchild radius for the electron mass " on google and you'll see how irrelevant that is

and to back up john titor, i think what he meant by "black hole being a size of an electron" is that a black hole's SINGULARITY is infinitely small but infinitely dense / heavy. remember, he claimed to be a soldier, so i wouldn't suppose him to completely understand the physics of this.

i'm not saying john titor's story was true or not, i'm just saying that what this 'professor' is saying about the Schwarzschild equation is flawed IMO.

Been posted multiple times, but yeah, it's a hoax. Good story though. I disagree that your average idiot with a high school diploma could do a decent job of debunking it, it kind of did take the expertise of a university professor to do so with authority.

Posted by TranceGiant on Nov-04-2003 21:13:

The idea is so fascinating though. I wonder why no1 hasnt used it as an idea for a book/movie yet.

Are you here now to observe the results of the presidential election?

I would use the word "elections" a bit cautiously. Perhaps it's easier now to see a civil war in your future?

thats fuckin crazy

Rasta

this is pretty interesting. even if it is a hoax, it seems like there are some good messages in it.

oh yeah THAT disproves it
and the fact that time travel just about breaks every law of physics doesnt

lol

what i was gonna say.

it is a quite interesting read. i spent too much time reading the whole thing on his war.
the whole hoax is pretty well done for what it is.

as long as they have porn, beer, and trance in the future I am a happy man.

My theory is that it wasn't a hoax at all, and the government are covering it up by claiming it's all an internet hoax, because at the end of the day people will believe that

Which laws in particular?... As far as I was aware, phycisists agree that time travel may theoretically be possible

Posted by noikeee on Nov-05-2003 14:54:

well, lets see what happens in 2005

Is the GPS system still in use in 2036?

(58) Oh yes! In fact, the unit I have with me works here. I'm not sure why that surprises me. There are also a great many communications and Internet satellite systems.

Really, well he obviously missed that EU is launching a new GPS system called Gallileo, whose accuracy is going to be greatly improved in comparison to the standard GPS. It will also be free for civilian use, unlike the current GPS that has civilian users severely penalized.

Other than that, most of his predictions regarding time travel are vague and could be told by anyone who spent a few days examining the superstring and time travel theories.

???????????????????

Posted by Chris Crossland on Nov-05-2003 17:01:

Well we will know if he was telling the truth if there is a civil war in 2004-2005

Posted by DrUg_Tit0 on Nov-05-2003 17:01:

The accuracy of GPS is much lower for civilian users.

Posted by noikeee on Nov-09-2003 00:46:

wait, this isn't the guy who won a lot of money cause he knew what was gonna happen in the (arrgh.. how do you call that thing.. stock? economy market?), then said he was a time traveller? or is it another guy?

well duh its possible (reletivity) but not in the way hes talking about

just think of the simple laws
conservation of matter for example if he pops up from 30 years from now your creating new matter
