Satan (eek!) Roll Call: Ferry Corsten@Avalon NYC (YES NYC!) Nov-22-03

Ferry Corsten is due to play at Avalon (former Limelight) on Nov. 22 2003. When I saw it on Ferry's website, my first question (being non-NY resident) was "Avalon??? in NY??? HUH???" But Lia (Ferry's wife) confirmed that infact Avalon is now also open in NYC.

Here's the info:

22-11-2003 | Avalon, New York - USA
Club Avalon
20th Street @ 6th Avenue
Doors at 10 pm
http://www.nightclubvip.net/avalon.asp

Yaaay!!! Limelight is back... but is it a good thing???

so, who's goin?

Posted by st0w on Nov-04-2003 20:15:

Yeah, Avalon NY opened a couple weeks ago. Or maybe a bit longer. Either way, I've heard amazing things about it from people but Ferry is gonna be my first night experiencing it myself. Visually it seems stunning (you can find pictures online) and supposedly the sound is pretty solid as well. And yes, it's owned by the same people that own continual award winning Avalon in Boston.

Just from walking by on other nights, there seems to always be a sizeable crowd there (although I don't know the character of the crowd -- good, I would hope). I know I can't wait -- he kicked ass last time he was here at Exit (which is nowhere near as good a venue).

Anybody else got first hand experience as to what the crowd/vibe is like?

Posted by Anno Domino on Nov-04-2003 20:32:

yeah it's good, great infact (vibe vise)

but unfortunatly most of the people there are sound factory residents who made their move over to avalon and well the crowd has a combined level of 16 year old attitudes... but hey after a few drinks and the scenary blows you away you wont even care much who's around you.

i still like Roxy better dunno why?

Posted by intelligent77 on Nov-10-2003 20:21:

YEAH@!! WE're goin with a small crowd!!...my friends are paying for me to fly home early just to go with them!!.. isn't that LOVE!!

BZY's getting dragged up there.. i'm going to be there probably on the 19th of Nov.. so i wouldn't mind hookin up with some peeps for something to do on Friday night either..

Attn: DC TA's... we've got a small group going.. DuNGPoW members i think may put together a small group as well if anyone would like to join us.. for car pooling reasons!

Posted by intelligent77 on Nov-10-2003 20:22:

Yo! Pyro & SLyFOx.. you guys gonna be there? I'm finally comin to NY to party with ya!

Posted by DR86 on Nov-10-2003 21:39:

forget ferry, go to Astral Projection. they're performing at arc the same night

Posted by Vlad on Nov-10-2003 21:45:

Sorry, but I will not be making it to Ferry nor Astral Projection, paying $30 for Pvd on friday (plus an additional $10 for Sbarros before) and another $20 for J00F on saturday is more than enough for 1 weekend. I wont be able to afford another night.

I need to save all my money for equipment that I will be buying very soon.

Ill be see'n AP instead

Posted by Zack Roth on Nov-10-2003 22:08:

such a tough call that weekend. I'm feeling AP right nbow. Cheaper, and no gay Avalon bullshit to deal with.

IM THERE 100%

FERRY!

I'll be @ Avalon, which is an AMAZING venue. My advice get there SUPER early. Since it's reopened it has soared in popularity. I went opening night and Halloween both times it took about 1/2 an hour to get in. Both times when I left around 5 there was still a freaking line to get in! Ferry should be a blast. I'll be there with whole bunch of CU people, many of whom will be having there first trance experience.
Can't wait.

I'm a sophomore, and so are most of my friends. Two of my junior friends might come out for this one though. Are you @ CU?

At this price, no excuses for missing Ferry...

Posted by bia on Nov-14-2003 05:46:

does anyone know what the dress code is?? is there one, or is it basically like roxy?? also, is it 18 to party 21 to drink, or just 21??? what time does avalon close?? i've been to the one in bosten and both times they shut down at 2....i definately want to go to this.....just want to get the info first

Posted by st0w on Nov-14-2003 20:16:

The closing at 2 is an unfortunate result of where the venue is located. Avalon here can stay open muuuuuch later. No idea what any average closing time is, tho..

Things may have changed, but I went on both nights the weekend after it opened, and at that time, it closed at around 6:30 - 6:45 am.
