Daft Punk - One More Time
ATC - Around the World
Alice Deejay - Better off Alone

i even have a copy of "Jump Around" by House of Pain..!

don't rip me too hard on this thread but.. do you have any vinyl that you've previously bought and you're not proud of?

LMAO
DJ Sammy - Heaven
Follow the leader (Ohh my god)
That's it (not really)

Posted by Nemesis44 on Nov-05-2003 01:40:

Sneaker Pimp You think that's bad...?

I'm not even gonna tell you the names (would be too embarassing), but you should see some of the crap I get sent. Actually, a lot of it's never been heard of, and quite rightly so as it's so bad.

Cheers

But hold on to those records and in a decade, it'll bring back so many memories.

YOu're saying its all cheese now (Which it is) but in a decade or so, you'll listen to these tracks and remember a certain time back in 1999 or 2000 when you first heard them (either in a club, or in a car, or someplace) and you;ll get that nostalgic smile on your face.

or i could just be full of shit !

hahaha

PPK - Resurection is the worst vinyl i got, damn shocking.

Posted by basd on Nov-05-2003 08:34:

The only really cheesy record I have (from the time I spun progressive house) is a house remix of a Seal song, some crappy one-sided whitelabel crap record crap..

Other than that, not really.. Of course there are records which I shouldn't have bought (*cough* Renato Cohen - Pontape *cough*)

True.

Every genre has its highs and lows.

Pontape is a techno low imo.. Together with that &"(& Murder was the bass..

You don't like every trance / prog / whatever you listen to / .. song around do you?

Posted by fastmp3 on Nov-05-2003 09:21:

nope i don't hehe , but i like ponta p , muder was the bass is overplayed IMO

Posted by Nemesis44 on Nov-05-2003 13:04:

Aye,

It has to be said that every Tom Dick and Harry has caned DK - Murder was the bass to the point where it's not funny any more.
I got my White Label of it earlier in the year but didn't play it out. Then I heard Fergie play it and changed my mind about the song. I'm as guilty a the next man as I have been playing it on dancefloors where ever I have been. Stopped now though. It's the sort of track that needs to be left alone for a year or so and then pulled out as a surprise again at a later date.

At the momnent I play 019 by Chris Liberator as my nasty kill dem all techno track. Whack it on and watch the pill monsters go balistic!

One of the worst records I have (and this could start a shit storm) is Motorcycle - 'As the rush comes'. It's well produced but sounds too much like pop music to me. Guess there is not enough bosh there.

Cheers

Erm, you're kinda wrong here..

It's the sort of track that needs to be left alone for a year or so, and then another year, and another..

And when someone's asking you to play it, tell him to shut up and deny you have it.

Posted by raaven on Nov-05-2003 13:09:

i have a few but i'd rather not mention them

I get the feeling you don't like it

Posted by progressivepey on Nov-05-2003 17:37:

alright c'mon just be honest here...

who has any moby records?? my copy of moby's "southside" went straight to the southside of my garbage dumpster the other day..

not to hate on any moby fans but, i wouldn't consider it "dance music"

pEy

Posted by Freak on Nov-05-2003 17:45:

Original 12" of Moby 'go'

now thats classic dance music...

I also have feeling so real on 12" (moby mix and also westbam mix).......totally banging tune..........

dont judge him entirely on the more recent stuff.....

If you have a copy of it from before it crossed over the mainstream then you have no right to laugh at anyone.

I can't believe I'm the first to say Darude - Sandstorm! What an aweful track! I keep it in the same cover as DJ Jean - The Launch w/out a sleeve.

Posted by Nemesis44 on Nov-05-2003 20:14:

Aye Freak,

Got the Moby - Go 12" (Woodtick mix) and have to wholeheartedly agree that it's a gem. It was ahead of it's time in my opinion and not to be laughed at.
On the subject of Moby it's also worth saying that while he might not be making that much in the way of dance music these days there are still some half decent remixes of his tracks.
I also remember playing "feeling so real" for dance floors and it was a stonking tune! (That's stonking not stinking).

Zombie Nation was also good until it for the want of a better expression 'crossed over'. People become very single minded about so called selling out. DJ Sammy is a sell out, Zombie Nation was just an underground track that was made popular. I have seen Zombie Nation work the dancefloor where as if you played Mr Sammy you would have a que of punters lining up to kill you (Assuming you played it in an underground club).
Hell, I even recal early Venga boys being played by some of the more credible DJs.
Venga Bus, now there is a sad arsed tune.
ATB - 9pm was also hammered on Ibiza. That was cheese though but fitted the moment very well.

One of the Shittiest records I have been sent lately is Los Pablos - The Mystery.
