ICQ ADS no more......

Well enough is enough I noticed a few Warez sites having a ICQ banner removing program I didn�t trust it after all ICQ being my #1 source of communication I didn�t want a group of guys playing around with it so I just did a little research. Any way ON TO ������� Removing ICQ Banners a Friendly Guide From BLAKRAIN Find the following .dll files in your ICQ directory and rename them to .bak: (if u r unsure DO NOT CONTIUNE I have done this already) icqateima32.dll becomes icqateima32.bak icqateimg32.dll becomes icqateimg32.bak icqateres.dll becomes icqateres.bak These changes should stop the banner and pop up from appearing. And u should get a msg window like so�\  |
I don't even notice the banners anymore to be honest. It's probably worth noting though, that other methods I've seen (invoved fiddling with the system reg if I remember correctly) remove the banner area completly, rather than just the image as in the above example.
update: just rememberd, I think it was the same as the above example, except you also went into the registry and changed to values which gave the bottom window a height of 0 pixels or something. Can't remember where I saw it tho.

Providing you have 2000b and the right build version, I just run a small effective 1.7MB exe patch made by TNT cracking group, that does everything including:

Dude thanx for the info...I've found those banners annoying frm Day One...
Although...Paul,I can use that crak frm TNT...none of the gals on my list seem to be online whenever i come online...

i used to have the crack and all the banners went but it doenst work on my new build... i just move the message window banner to the bottom of the screen so i cant see it

need some help
I really dunno what to do,I've had this problem since my pc was firewalled and I have this problem I cannot either recieve or send anything through icq cuzz of the freakin firewall. Some people were telling me about some proggie that enables icq transfer thru firewall but it only works for icq 99b and eventhough I tried it it didn't work I am really suffering here cuzz imagine I can't use Auido Galaxy I can't use any file-sharing software cuzz it won't connect to the main server cuzz of my firewall I'd really appreciate ur help if u could tell me what to do.

Well im still lookin round for a good version of 99a/b... believe it or not i want to downgrade!... 2000 takes up just too much resources even on a fast pc!

[edit]...also there is a version for the latest icq (2000b??) that will remove the blank space as well!!!, so ur message window doesn't have that stupid box at the bottom
...however i'm not sure which one i installed, so i can't tell which one exactly it is

there are two ways to solve ur problem
1.- Turn off the firewall as easy as that
2.- All firewalls allow u to control which data is blocked and with data is allowed, if it doesnt chance the program of ur firewall, personally i like conseal, i used it all the time and i could use icq/ag without altering them
omG! ICQ 2001 still has them banners!
Smileys suck btw.. stupid program bah.. only gets bigger n bigger.. longer 2 load.. etc etc..
But nothing new you reallly need.. only good addition was the possibility to contact peepz on their cellular..
Ill stick with msn..
