Stick style / Single cup headphones
Has anyone used these? ive see Danny Howells use them alot... i was considering buying them .. i think Vestax makes them... anyone know anything about them it'd be a great help.
well... it's a single headphone on a stick. what else do you need to know?
V.S. something like the HD 280 or the MDR V700, sound quality wise

yeah there's not too much to it. Im not sure if its mono or if its just 1 cup of a pair of headphones (cut in half). I personally only use 1 earphone too. Thing is I use both of my hands when I mix, so holding the stick would seriously affect my mixing. Ive seen Sony make them, a MDRV700 cup on a stick, looked odd to me.
why get one if you can have two cups?
It just seemed like it would be a good choice cause with regular headphones you always have one cup on and the other is basicly useless, once you get the hang of it.. I mean I hardly ever put both cups on while im mixing so I can hear the live track. The stick is kind of curved so it comfortable I guess .. so I take it nobody tried it.
the dj with the one headphone on and one off is the classic look. i would laugh if i saw a dj that was only using 1 headphone cup. but thats just me. i guess if it saves money it is not a bad idea. i would still prob end up using my 2 cup headphones in public.

Dave Clarke uses single cup headphones sometimes.
Visible in the vid "Dave Clarke - Live @ Impulz", looks kinda cool.
