evil banks
600 hundrend more pound has just appeared in my bank account, ive ruled out nearly every source it could of originated from, what do u think i should do.
A/ Leave it in there for a few weeks/months
b/ spend it outright and get new technics decks
c/ transfer it to another backaccount, and hope they dont look at my account, and realise there has been an error, but sit on it incase.
I say you western union that shit over here.
Nah, I'd sit on it for a bit.
wierd, i wish i had that happen to me
id say: c)
Could you even get in trouble for trying to take advantage of their error? Even in the case that you could just hold to the fact that you didn't think anything was wrong. Banks have a lot of money, I wouldn't feel very bad for taking a little.
keep the comments coming.
if i were you, i'd withdraw all money from the bank account, close it, change my name, move to a different country, always watch my back, not walk in dark alleys, lock my doors behind me, and never ever speak to anyone about this again.
Had that happen to me before!
800 on my account out of nowhere last year
Spent it and never got in one little bit of trouble from it
I'd go with C.. just cause if they do reconcile their accounts at the end of the month or whenever and catch the mistake, they'll definitely make you pay it back.
i would wait a bit. my mom received a check for $1500 after she finished a car lease. she didnt know what it was for so she called them up, just to be sure and they said it was hers. but then a few months later they realised the mistake and made her pay it back as a loan. there was no record of the phone call she had made.
just wait and see it they find the mistake.
The computers will realise the mistake and want it back. So wait, dont spend it.

id say you should wait, i mean it the impulsive way if you just take it out and spend it all...banks will make you pay even though it's their mistake...i'd say, wait for a week then if the money is still there, then go on a shopping spree
I was leaning towards c anyway, i just wanted to see people's opinion's, i am pretty hard up atm, being a student and all, and that 600 pound would enable me to get my technics, without leaving myself with to little money.
Community Chest
Bank error in your favor, collect 600 pounds!
Place this card on the bottom of the pile.

phone them up and say
"I have received 600 quids which do not belong to me. Please take it back. By the way, my account number is _____ and my PIN number is ____. Thank you for your time"
HEY!!!!
600 pounds are missing from my account!!!!
gimme my bloody money back you piece of $%@#!$!^$!#$^!!%$^! #^%$
it's the present i'm giving you for your last birthday, get the technics
Hang onto it for a while, dont spend it. If you look at your account agreement, you will notice the bank has the right to come back at you for the full amount at any time. If you don't have the money when they go to collect it, then they wil ask you for it. If you refuse to hand it over the police will be involved as that is classified as theft regardless of how the funds came into your posession. Technically you are supposed to notify the bank within 30 days of such errors.
that happened to me with $350 but later i found out it was my tax return.
Just say you thought it was work money, you haven't checked you account for a long time so you didn't really know how much was in there...then spend away.
The check written was to pay for my first installment of hall fees for university accomodation.
*edit* just found out the cheque might still not of gone thru.
Just sit on it for a month and wait a while for things to blow over. I'm pretty sure you can get done for theft if you use the money... especially if they can prove that you knew something dodgy was going on.
