nfshs.exe is not a valid win32 application

I installed NFS: high stakes since i had it around and im not able to play it.

THe message i get is: "nfshs.exe is not a valid win32 application"

Does anyone know how to make it play?

First you should tell us what OS are you using if you are using Windows Xp then the game might not be able to run sadly since XP is NT based so that might give you some problems.

im running 2000. I installed an earlier version of need for speed and it works. just NFS: high stakes doesnt work

is it a cracked copy? ive seen some issues with cracked copies of nfs4. also check out EA's website to see if theres a patch to solve this, my dads got high stakes and works fine on his pc (win xp)

So cracked copies can be fixed?

I dunno, my mate was trying to get one to work, after a while i just gave him my copy of the game as i never play it no more.
