Life, not only a game, but a cereal as well.

What do you think the meaning of life is? I think it is to die.

Posted by trancendental on Nov-08-2003 01:48:

To not think about it

Posted by Fast Turtle on Nov-08-2003 01:50:

I'm sure there's a website somewhere that will explain this.

Posted by placebo on Nov-08-2003 01:51:

The Babel fish... is small, yellow and leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It feeds on brainwave energy received not from its own carrier but from those around it. It absorbs all unconscious ental frequencies from this brainwave frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself. It then excretes into the mind of its carrier a telepathic matrix formed by combining the conscious thought frequencies with nervesignals picked up from the speech centres of the brain which has supplied them.

The practical upshot of all this is that if you stick a Babel fish in your ear you can instantly understand anything said to you in any form of language. The speech patterns you actually hear decode the brainwave matrix which has been fed into your mind by your Babel fish.

Now it is such a bizarrely improbably coincidence that anything so mindbogglingly useful could have evolved by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God.

The argument goes something like this: "I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."

"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own argument, you don't. QED."

"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.

Life means to get maximum amount of education at school so you get a high waging job to support your family, so your kids can have an easier time getting maximum amount of education at school so they can get a high waging job to support their families, so their kids can have an easier time getting maximum amount of education at school so they can get a high waging job to support their families, and so on. Its a pointless cycle isnt it.

I think that there is a great differenece between the purpose/meaning of life and living out a happy life. I believe the purpose/meaning of life is to be born, survive until breeding age, breed and then die so that the human race can keep evolving.

Of course this is not the way i think we should live our lives in any way. I also dont think that this is the key to happiness i just think that its the way nature wishes it could be.

Posted by TranceGiant on Nov-08-2003 12:17:

You live for the sake of...........living. Simple and true.

Posted by Vivid Boy on Nov-08-2003 16:52:

why are we dyin to live when we're only living to die?

Posted by Arbiter on Nov-08-2003 18:02:

"Meaning" in this context usually implies intent. But without life, there would be nothing capable of intent. Therefore, life has no "meaning", unless I'm misunderstanding your question.

Posted by BTG on Nov-09-2003 00:26:

i think its to get laid as many times as you possibly can. then die.
