maybe its a pal dvd, not ntsc...if so..thats pretty funny, and it wont play, haha

Behold, my arse.

It's real funny I'm sure

use a deeveedee ripper and dump the whole disk to your mounted drives... re-encode them in NTSC, luego usa any deeveedee program and just watch the *.vob files or (it's probably possible to watch them straight off the disc on your pc now that i think about it..

The 1 you purchased is the PAL version which is designed for european systems as opposed to the NTSC version designed for America. You can rip it to your hard drive as has been explained above or you can wait and buy the NTSC version which will have more footage, better sound, and better video as the PAL version was rushed and is full of shite errors.

still wondering when the ntsc dvd is going to be available here in the US...

Posted by kparker on Nov-10-2003 17:36:

well, fuck. this is no good.

So I'm assuming no one else has this same problem.

I believe you can get a device that will convert PAL into NTSC. But they are like 200 USD.

Its called an all regions dvd player. I paid 300 for mine 4 years ago.

No region DVD players are quite cheap as of late. Im sure you can purchase one for under 50 dollars. I bought one about a year ago for that price.

You can just change the jumper switch on your DVD player to Region 2.

Posted by mcdpitt on Nov-11-2003 03:10:

don't think changing that switch will work. ADATO dvd was region free also, so i bought this and it would not work in any american dvd player, but it would in my computer. the version you bought is formatted in pal playback, we all need NTSC (or whatever)....this is actually a region free disc
